Select Your Marketplace and Country
To get started with the Trend Buzz tool, select the marketplace that you want to research. With a wide variety of both online and brick and mortar locations available, there’s always somewhere new to explore.
After selecting your marketplace, choose which country’s data you would like to see. At the time of this article’s publishing, eRank provides data for the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, and India.
With the marketplace and country selected, scroll down to see the top trending keywords on that platform and country. You can choose between data for the past 30 days (default), past 7 days, or yesterday. Free members have access to the top 10 keywords, while paid plans see the top 100 keywords.
Explore Trending Keywords
A graph displays next to each keyword that shows a 15-month search trend graph along with the “Change” column. The easy to view visual graph demonstrates the average searches per month over the past 15 months for each keyword. The “Change” column indicates any rise or fall in popularity over the past month.
If you see a keyword on this list that you want to save, simply click the star next to the keyword to save to your most current Keyword List. The three dots beside each keyword allows you to add that keyword to multiple keyword lists, remove a list, or add a new list.
Utilize Different Category Tabs
If interested in different aspects of an item such as colors or materials, use the category tabs just above the keyword results. (Please note that this feature is currently available only when performing searches for Etsy in the USA for the past 30 days). The available options include trending keywords for colors, types of products, recipients, styles, and materials.
The knowledge provided by the additional options is invaluable when deciding what to include in your next product line. For example, if you wanted to release a new line of jewelry, taking a look at the materials tab gives you insights as to whether gold or silver is more popular. The keywords from the additional options can also be saved to your keyword lists.
After discovering keywords that you wish to research further, use eRank’s Keyword Tool for detailed statistics about each keyword.
