Making changes to an Etsy listing is only half the battle—tracking those changes is what helps you understand if they’re actually improving traffic and sales. eRank’s Listing Changes tool simplifies this process by taking daily snapshots of your tracked listings, allowing you to monitor key stats such as views, favorites, and quantity available. This tool is especially useful when testing new keywords or tweaking your listing titles to boost visibility. Let’s explore how this powerful SEO feature can help you fine-tune your Etsy strategy for better results.

Access the Changes Tool

From the eRank Dashboard, click on the Listing Optimization menu on the left-side navigation bar and select Listings from the menu to open the Listings page. The tool displays the active listings within your shop—between 50 listings for Free eRank Members up to 5000 listings for Expert Members. If you are a Basic member, Pro member, or Expert member, click the “Track” button to start tracking changes to the listing’s images, title, tags, price, views, favorites, and quantity in stock.

Basic members can track up to five listings, Pro members can track up to 20 listings, and Expert members can track up to 50 listings.

To go to the Changes for a particular listing, click “See Changes”. For easier access to those listings you’re tracking, toggle the “Tracked Only” on to see solely those listings.

After clicking on “See Changes”, the Listing Audit for that listing opens, with the “Listing Changes” tab open. At the top is a graph showing changes in views, favorites, and quantity over time. Scroll down to see either the Daily Snapshots or Change Summaries.

Viewing a Change Summary

If you’re looking for a quick overview of performance instead of daily updates, use the Change Summary view. This shows performance metrics since the last change was made to either the main thumbnail, title, tags, or price. Seeing a broader picture instead of daily updates is a faster way to view the overall trend of a listing over time, especially useful for seasonal products or those you’re running long-term experiments on.

If views and favorites drop after changes, check a previous summary to see which keywords in a title or tag were removed, and consider adding them back into your listing. This is a great way to test and troubleshoot your listings when sales hit a slump.

Viewing a Daily Snapshot

For each tracked listing, eRank takes a snapshot daily that includes total views, number of favorites, and item quantity available. Like the Change Summary, it also shows any changes made to your listing’s title, tags, photos, or price. For the tags, eRank highlights removed keywords in red, while new additions appear in green. For titles, eRank removed keywords are red with strikethrough formatting, and new additions are green. The colored font makes it easy to see changes that you made, which is important when testing out new keywords.

When specifically viewing the quantity available, total views, and total favorites, watch for the red and green indicators that reflect changes. A red number means that the overall number has decreased. For the quantity available column, this is typically a good thing because it means you made a sale. A green number indicates an increase for that metric.

Since eRank takes a daily snapshot while you track the listing and it remains active in your shop, these reference points provide valuable insights for making business decisions. Knowing when your listings get the most traction helps to plan out potential launches, marketing campaigns, or the best days to edit your listings.

Remove the Guesswork

eRank’s Listing Changes tool is a great way to see how a listing’s edits impact the views, favorites, and sales of that listing. Take the guesswork out of it and let eRank do the heavy lifting for you!
