The Author’s Guide to eRank’s New Book Data

The Author’s Guide to eRank’s New Book Data

5 min read

If you’re an author looking to improve your book’s visibility on Amazon—or expand your reach across platforms like Audible, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo—you know that keyword research is critical. But too often, authors are left guessing what readers are really searching for. That’s where eRank’s new Book Data comes in.

Known as a go-to platform for Etsy sellers, eRank is now stepping into the world of book publishing with a powerful new set of tools designed for authors, self-publishers, and small presses. Whether you’re launching your first book or managing a growing backlist, eRank offers insights you can use to optimize your listings, drive traffic to your product pages, and improve your Amazon Ads performance—all powered by real shopper behavior.

Why eRank’s Book Data Matters

eRank’s Book Data isn’t just a repackaging of general keyword search tools. It’s built on a foundation of real shopper data from a pool of millions of buyers. That means instead of relying on speculative search volume or competitor tagging, you’re seeing what actual readers are typing into Amazon and other platforms when they’re looking for their next read.

This data is especially valuable in a crowded market where standing out requires more than just a compelling blurb and beautiful cover. With eRank, you can pinpoint keywords that not only generate impressions but actually convert clicks, helping you get in front of the right readers at the right time.

Key Features You’ll Love

Here’s a breakdown of the most useful features currently available in eRank’s Book Data tools.

🔍 Keyword Data for Major Book Platforms

  • Amazon Books
  • Amazon Kindle (eBook)
  • Amazon Audible (audiobooks)
  • Barnes & Noble
  • Kobo

This gives you a multi-platform look at keyword trends, helping you tailor your book titles, subtitles, descriptions, and backend keywords more strategically.

📈 Click-Through Rate (CTR)

One of the most game-changing features for authors is the ability to see CTR—the percentage of people who click on a keyword result. High impressions are great, but if no one’s clicking, you’re wasting valuable marketing real estate. CTR gives you a clearer picture of buyer intent by allowing you to focus on keywords that attract actual buyers, not just browsers.

  • With an eRank Free Plan, you can see CTR for the keyword you search.
  • On Paid Plans, you unlock CTR insights for all suggested keywords, giving you a fuller picture of which keywords are worth targeting in your ads and listings.

🗂 Keyword Lists

eRank makes it easy to save and organize keyword lists for every book, series, or ad campaign. You no longer need to juggle spreadsheets or lose great keyword ideas to forgotten sticky notes. Just search, save, and apply.

🌐 Multi-Channel Keyword Insights

In addition to book-specific platforms, eRank also pulls keyword data from:

  • Google
  • Pinterest
  • Facebook
  • Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT)

This helps authors who market across platforms build a cohesive, data-informed strategy.

Free vs. Paid Account Access

eRank offers a free account for authors who want to explore the basics, and paid plans for deeper data and added functionality.

If you’re just starting out, the Free Plan is a great way to explore the tool. But if you’re serious about optimizing ads, improving discoverability, and scaling your publishing business, the Paid Plans unlocks the full potential of the data.
