Geez Louise, you have six screamers this month! (That’s our pet name for Top 20 keywords that didn’t even make your Top 1000 a month ago.) All six and two more Top 20 climbers are searches for essentially the same thing. Birthday invitations that could get you in big trouble with the folks whose intellectual property is being infringed. Not to mention Etsy.

So, let’s just pretend we don’t see those, shall we? Because there is plenty else to talk about. Like this month’s No. 3.

On the left, Etsy Canada keyword stats for “digital products.” The line chart shows its search trend performance for the past 15 months with Canadian Etsy shoppers.

“Digital products” is a unicorn! Are you new? We’ve begun calling opportunities like these “unicorns” because of all the Etsy naysayers who claim they don’t exist. That is, product niches with above-average demand and below-average competition.

“Digital products” is the very picture of a unicorn, and then some! Fifteen out of 15 months with 1000+ searches; well above average Average CTR; Competition in the green. And when we calculated its monthly CTR (click-through rate) for June, it is 150% – that’s as high as these go! Which tells us “digital products” must be selling like hotcakes up there!

Tip! Top Etsy searches and purchase intent

Especially for those of you who are new to eRank or selling online, here’s a quick explainer.

On ecommerce sites, click-through rates (CTRs) reflect how many times shoppers clicked listings in their search results. Therefore, CTRs are an indicator of ‘purchase intent.’ These are people more likely searching with the intention to buy, as opposed to those just browsing.

You’ll want to keep up with Canada’s highest trending Etsy searches, of course. But for insight into what’s selling best on Etsy now, look to their click-through rates. It’s why we end our trend reports with a Monthly CTR Roundup. You’ll learn which of Canada’s top Etsy searches have had the highest CTRs most recently.

And at a glance, we can see you have quite the bumper crop of high CTRs this month. But before we get to them, here are your 14 climbers.

Canada’s top Etsy searches climbing highest fastest

We’ve listed these in order by their current rank, followed by their previous rank. This way, you can see at a glance what climbed highest fastest, and which are new.

Ranked 1st: “sonic birthday invitation,” up from #109

2nd: “pokmon [sic] birthday invitation,” up from #107

4th: “paw patrol birthday invitation,” screamer (not in May’s Top 1000)

7th: “frozen birthday invitation,” screamer

8th: “mickey mouse birthday invitation,” screamer

9th: “spiderman birthday invitation,” screamer

10th: “necklace,” up from #69

11th: “sticker,” up from #67 (but “stickers” was No. 1)

12th: “super hero birthday invitation,” screamer

13th: “journal,” up from #392

14th: “spongebob birthday invitation,” screamer

15th: “poster,” up from #71

16th: “wedding gift,” up from #487

20th: “press on nails,” up from #51

Check out “press on nails”!

By George, “press on nails” is another unicorn! Here are the metrics we use:

  • ranks in the Top 200
  • 135%+ CTR for the current month
  • 100%+ Average CTR
  • 5+ out of 15 months with 1,000+ searches
  • low competition (green in Keyword Tool)

In the past 15 months, “press on nails” has only dipped below 1,000/mo twice, in May and October last year. This year in May, searches were up Year on Year by 1,150%. So, those of you here to discover what’s selling best on Etsy these days: these are! And now, let’s go see what else is.

Roundup! Canada’s top Etsy keywords with 135%+ CTRs now

Here for ideas of what to sell on Etsy? Then this is for you! It’s your insider access to which of this month’s 200 highest trending Etsy searches show the most purchase intent. Note that these calculations are drawn exclusively from your most recent full month of data. Regardless of their 12-mo CTRs then, these products are what’s selling best on Etsy Canada now.

Ranking #1-50

For better readability, we will only shout out a few individual CTRs that are sky high. Just keep in mind that our 135% threshold indicates exceptional purchase intent. Which means any qualifying keywords you see here that interest you are worth researching.

Last month, you only had two qualifiers in your Top 20. This month, you have nine! Sonic birthday invitation, pokmon birthday invitation, digital products, mickey mouse birthday invitation, spiderman birthday invitation, journal, spongebob birthday invitation, rugs, and press on nails.

#19 “rugs” – June CTR: 149%

Left, Etsy Canada keyword stats for “rugs.” The line chart shows its 15-mo search trend performance. And "rugs" has eRank's gold badge for continuing to be among Canada's top Etsy keywords this week.

Nice one! A bit too much competition to qualify as a unicorn though. But don’t let that deter you! You just need to niche down. If you’re new to Etsy or eRank, check out the tutorial we just did for the Etsy US trend report. It’s in the Roundup. You can use that procedure for any keyword.

Moving on to the rest of your Top 50, you have four high flyers in a row! At #21 there’s shirt, then #23 digital, and #31-32 crochet pattern and mug. Next up is #34 pokemon, followed by #38 3d printed miniature, and #48 pearl necklace.

Ranked from #51-100

Starting out strong at #55-59 with a quintet of high flyers. The first is ita bag: Unicorn Alert!

#55 “ita bag” – June CTR: 148%

Left, Etsy Canada keyword stats for “ita bag.” The line chart shows its 15-mo search trend performance.

We featured “ita bag” in this month’s UK Roundup too. It’s a unicorn for them also, as it is for the US. And will be for Australia as well, once they get a couple more months of 1,000+ search volume. Because these are mad popular globally, and have been since 2020.

Indeed, it is surprising that Etsy competition is still so low. Ita bags have become a mainstream accessory, and show no signs of lessening in popularity any time soon. Here for ideas of what to sell on Etsy in a niche you could make your own? This would be a fun one.

Now, back to the rest of that quintet of high flyers. From #56, the other four are hoodie, 3d print, ats resume template, and christmas. If you haven’t yet, better get those Christmas items listed asap; “christmas” has a current CTR of 148%! Canada’s Etsy shoppers have already started buying.

Next up is #61 friendship, followed by #68-69 charms and bridesmaid proposal. “Charms” was one of your screamers last month; it ranked #14 with a CTR of 149%. In fact, we featured it to illustrate the concept of purchase intent. It’s dropped back down in search volume since, but it still has a 148% CTR for June. And so does your next qualifier: #74 rotating cake stand. After that one though, your list goes quiet until #91 kratos 3d, and the last is #94 black.

Next, from #101-150

A unicorn in the making?

#109 “lighting” – June CTR: 146%

Left, Etsy Canada keyword stats for “lighting.” The line chart shows its 15-mo search trend performance. And it's got the gold badge that indicates "lighting" is also among Canada's top Etsy keywords this week.

“Lighting” has a 12-mo CTR of 98%, just 2% short of our preferred 100%+. If it gets another month or so of sky-high monthly CTRs, that should do it. Meanwhile, you needn’t wait! The rest of its metrics are stellar; there clearly is opportunity here. Get in before that Competition stat rises any higher.

Resuming our Roundup, at #110 is pearl ring, and wow: now we’re talking!

#110 “pearl ring” – June CTR: 148%

‘Tis a delightful little unicorn, our “pearl ring” here. All stats green for go! And who would have supposed we’d find a unicorn in Etsy’s Jewelry category of all places? After all those Negative Nellies saying Jewelry’s way too saturated these days to even try. Ha!

Now, back once more to our Roundup and better buckle up: there are slews more coming up! At #117 is phainon, followed by #121 witches. Then a trio at #123-125: sterling silver initial necklace, world cup, and vtuber outfit. Skip just one and you have a nonad (lol, we love these collective nouns)! The nine: women crochet pattern, wolfbox, small gifts for men, sonic, standing desk, personalized panties, persona 5, omori, and nuvuk.

At #137 is phainaxa, then a trio: #139-141 shapewear, resident evil, and resin ring box beautiful. And then from #143-150, you have an octet! Abstract painting, aeons end, anaxa, anime patches, ats resume recent grad, ats resume, ats friendly resume, and bridal shower game.

Finally, ranked #151-200

From #152-162, it’s an elevensome! Canada polo, bucket hat pattern, bts jersey, book embosser– and we have to stop right there because UNICORN ALERT!

#155 “book embosser” – June CTR: 146%

Left, Etsy Canada keyword stats for “book embosser.” The line chart shows its 15-mo search trend performance.

Textbook unicorn – and gracious, can you make out that CTR stat? It’s 139%: that’s phenomenally high for a 12-mo CTR. This tells us these have been selling really well since October 2025, which is when it appears they caught on. And yet Competition is under 1,000 Canadian listings. Definitely one for the books (ouch, sorry).

Now, back to the rest of that elevensome. Heavy duty tool hook, mimmina, how lucky are we, keychain personalized with picture, judaica wall mural, locket necklace, leather book charm. Skip just one and there’s a trio: #164-166 linen, lightning mcqueen birthday invitation, and mugs. Again skip one and there’s another trio: fruit trees, crochet flowers, coat hooks.

At #172 is flat back earrings set silver, followed by a quintet at #174-178. These are dress, carnelian aaa, student resume, mosaic crafts, and hitek. At #180 you have maple leaf polo; skip three and you have a trio: filofax, corsets, custom stickers. Then skip just one and you have another trio: resin ring box, spike hoop earrings, standing desk top. And the final three for this month are #195 harness, #197 pine, and #199 prop money realistic canadian.

And that’s a wrap for this month, friends. We really hope some of these leads will prove to be profitable for you.
