Are your Etsy shop listings not getting the views you hoped for? As an Etsy seller, it is disheartening to see low or no views on your products. However, do not despair! There are several proactive steps you can take to increase visibility and attract more potential customers to your Etsy shop. Here are some effective strategies to consider.

Optimize Your Listings for Search

One of the most important factors in attracting views to your Etsy listings is optimizing them for search. Use relevant keywords in your titles, descriptions, and tags to improve their visibility in Etsy’s search results. Conduct keyword research using eRank’s Keyword Tool to identify popular search terms related to your products and incorporate them strategically into your listings.

Think like a shopper and not a seller. How would you search for your item if you were shopping for it on Etsy? Also ask your friends and family about how they would search for it.

Another option is to try the Listing Helper Tool in eRank. Type in a description of your item and via AI, receive suggestions for titles, descriptions, and tags. The Listing Helper may think of a keyword that you had not previously considered.

Yet another thing to try is A/B split testing. Make a copy of one of your listings but change things up for the copy—different title, different thumbnail, or different tags. Just be sure to test only one thing at a time so that you know what works and what does not. Use eRank’s Listing Changes Tool to track your changes and see the results. This tool also makes it easier for you to change your listing back, should the changes have the opposite effect.

Improve Your Product Photography

High-quality, eye-catching photos significantly impacts the success of your Etsy listings. Invest time and effort into improving your product photography by using natural lighting, staging your products creatively, and showcasing them from multiple angles. Clear, professional-looking photos are more likely to capture the attention of potential buyers and encourage them to click on your listings.

Compare your items photos to your competitors. Sometimes, switching out your thumbnail picture can make a big difference if the current one is not displaying well in search.

Add Alt Text to your images to make them accessible for all your customers including those that are visually impaired. By providing descriptive and relevant alt text, you engage your visually impaired customers and build a positive brand reputation. Read more about adding alt text in our recent blog article.

Enhance Your Product Descriptions

Compelling product descriptions help to entice shoppers and provide them with valuable information about your products. Use descriptive language to highlight the features and benefits of your products and be sure to include any relevant details such as materials, dimensions, and care instructions. Consider telling a story or sharing the inspiration behind your products to engage potential buyers on a deeper level.

Utilize Social Media Marketing

Social media platforms offer a valuable opportunity to promote your Etsy shop and attract new customers. It is important that you not only depend on Etsy’s organic traffic but also drive traffic to your shop yourself. Share photos of your products, behind-the-scenes glimpses of your creative process, and customer testimonials on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter. Videos of you making your products are great reels and stories for Instagram and Facebook as well as video posts for Pinterest, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. Use relevant hashtags to increase the visibility of your posts and encourage engagement from your followers.

Seek Feedback and Make Adjustments

Do not be afraid to ask for feedback from friends, family, or fellow Etsy sellers on your shop listings. Constructive criticism can help you identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments to your listings. Pay attention to customer feedback and reviews, as well, and use them to refine your products and customer experience over time.

If your Etsy shop listings are experiencing low or no views, do not give up hope! By implementing these strategies and staying proactive in your marketing efforts, you can increase visibility for your listings, attract more potential customers to your Etsy shop, and ultimately drive sales. Remember to stay patient and persistent, as building a successful Etsy shop takes time and dedication. Happy selling!
