Hey there, UK! Bet you’re busy; the UK has the most fraught turnaround this time of year. Along with switching all your gift tags from Christmas to Valentines, you’ve also got the earliest Mother’s Day. And of course, early bird Easter shopping… er, wait.
Early Easter and Mother’s Day searches
Last year, you had two Easter-related searches in your January Top 1000, “easter” and “easter gifts.” Not this year, though. And Easter is two weeks earlier this year. Uh oh.
Easter

Year on Year, “easter” is down 81%! Maybe it’ll sneak up on people; it is early this year. Might be wise to brace yourselves for last-minute Easter orders.
As for Mother’s Day, so far you have the same number of related keywords as you had last year. The key takeaway here is that shoppers have swapped formerly top-ranked “gifts for mum” for “mothers day gift.”
“Gifts for mum”

No trending-now gold badge here. We do expect “gifts for mum” to pick up as we get closer to March. But better not have all your eggs in that basket. If you don’t already have it, include “mothers day gift.”
“Mothers day gift”

Overall search volume is comparatively lower for “mothers day gift.” As expected: compared to “gifts for mum,” it’s a much more specific keyword that’s trotted out once a year. With correspondingly less competition from your fellow UK sellers, though.
Valentine’s Day searches
Turning now to Valentine’s Day shoppers, at first we thought they too had left it a bit late. You had zero searches this past December with the word “valentine.” That struck us as unusual; Etsy’s US Valentine shoppers always start earlier. There were already two related searches in the US Top 1000 in November! By December, there were seven; up from six Year on Year. So we checked your December 2024 list. You did have one back then: #995 “funny valentines boxers.”
Then it occurred to us: maybe UK shoppers simply don’t need to start Valentine shopping in December. Due to your having a geographically smaller area for mail to need to get around, thus faster post? That would explain why the four searches related to Valentines Day in your current Top 20 are screamers. Let’s get to them.
The UK’s top Etsy keywords climbing highest fastest
Here are all your January climbers, in order by current rank, followed by their rank (if any) in December.
Ranked 1st: “valentines day gift,” screamer (i.e., didn’t make December’s Top 1000)
4th: “galentines gifts,” screamer
5th: “digital products,” up from #35
6th: “crochet,” up from #111
7th: “tshirt,” up from #656 (plural ranked #429)
9th: “self care gift,” screamer
10th: “poster,” up from #120
12th: “home gifts,” screamer
13th: “phone case,” up from #114
14th: “birthday card,” up from #763
15th: “jewellery,” up from #33 (but “jewellery gift” was No. 2)
17th: “rings,” up from #57 (but “ring” was #21)
18th: “valentines,” screamer
19th: “valentines day,” screamer
Yep, the list is longer this month. Last month, you had just 10 climbers, three of them screamers. That was nicely average. This month, you have 14 that weren’t in your last Top 20, including six screamers. Those didn’t even make your last Top 1000. Six screamers is a lot.
It’s hard to look at this list and not see Etsy flinging spaghetti at the wall promoting some of these. We think “valentines day gift” and “galentines gifts” and “home gifts” and “self care gift” are all Etsy’s doing. All four of the Etsy countries we cover here have that top screamer spiking in their Top 20s. Here’s yours.
Ranked 1st: “valentines day gift,” screamer

Three out of these four countries also have screamers “home gifts” and “self care gift.” And you and Canada have screamer “galentines gifts.”
To be clear, we’re not saying Etsy doesn’t know its business! (After all, they have ALL the data, lol.) Just because it’s not an organic search, it doesn’t mean shoppers aren’t interested. For you in the UK, both “valentines day gift” and “galentines gifts” have click-through rates for the month of 150%. That indicates a ton of purchase intent.
Top Etsy searches and purchase intent
Are any of you new to selling online? This will be a useful tip.
On ecommerce sites, click-through rates (CTRs) reflect how many times shoppers clicked listings in their search results. Therefore, CTRs are an indicator of ‘purchase intent.’ These are people more likely searching with the intention to buy, as opposed to those just browsing.
You’ll want to keep up with the UK’s top Etsy keywords, yes. But for insight into what’s selling best on Etsy, look to their click-through rates. It’s why we end these trend reports with a Monthly CTR Roundup. It lists which of your top 250 keywords have had the highest CTRs most recently.
As for your other climbers, “self care gift” and “home gifts” and “valentines” show the least buyer interest. We wouldn’t bother adding those to a Keyword List. But really, all the rest of your Top 20 climbers look worth researching!
And now that we’re done with your highest trending Etsy searches, let’s check out your Etsy top sellers, shall we?
Roundup! The UK’s top Etsy keywords with 135%+ CTRs now
For these Roundups, we draw our calculations exclusively from your most recent full month of data. So, regardless of their 12-mo CTRs, most of these should be what’s selling best on Etsy in the UK now. As for any of interest that are valentine-related, add those to a Keyword List. That way, you’ll be a step ahead on product research for next year’s shoppers.
Ranked from #1-50
In your Top 20, as mentioned, the majority qualify for the Roundup! We’ve already talked about valentines day gift; next, six in a row: pokemon, galentines gifts, digital products, crochet, tshirt, stickers. Then you have #10 poster; skip two and from #13-17: phone case, birthday card, jewellery, home decor, rings. And the last two Top 20 qualifiers are #19-20 valentines day and bracelet.
Apart from the screamers, the two that climbed highest fastest this month are #7 tshirt and #14 birthday card. We looked up both in Keyword Tool. Both are continuing to trend in search this week. Both have over half a million listings to compete with, yikes! Of the two, we like the looks of “tshirt” best.
#7 “tshirt” – January CTR: 150%

One reason we like this one is that very compelling 132% average click through rate. Another: all variations of the term itself are also trending. There’s the plural, tshirts (which has a 148% CTR now, by the way.) And you also have t shirt and t shirts among your highest trending Etsy searches. Combining the month’s search volumes for all four comes to 36,950. That would have ranked No. 1 for January!
And that’s without counting all the related searches in your top Etsy searches this month. Funny shirt, birthday shirt (149% CTR!), mens t shirt (148%), valentine shirt (149%), custom t shirt (146%). Are you here to find out what’s selling best on Etsy? These are.
Moving on the rest of your Top 50…
Right at #21 is calendar; skip two and you have 3d printed. Skip another and you have a septet! Keychain, personalised gift, rug, mug, jewelry [sic], 3d print, art print. Drop down two for #35 bookmark, followed by #37 ring. Drop past two more and there’s a pair: #40-41 sticker and fivem. At #43 is earrings; skip three and you have a trio, all high flyers: #47-49 necklace, moroccan rug, digital download.
Ranking #51-100
We’re off like a shot here with #51 journal; it has 150% for the month. Skip just one and there’s a sextet: posters, dnd, witch, vintage, custom, custom stickers. Skip one again and there’s a trio: zelda, gold, mugs. At #64 is digital, followed at #67-70 print, candles, curtains, crafting gifts.
Next you have #73 galentines; skip one and there’s a trio: arc raiders, custom plushie, whimsical. Skip one again and there’s a quartet: frames, locket, silver, valentines gift for him. At #84 is valentines day card, followed by #86 silver ring, then the pair at #89-90 candle and housewarming gift. Winding up the Top 100: wedding favours, twitch, patches, fidget, then #98 table lamp, and #100 frieren.
Now, on all the forums we frequent, we keep hearing people complain that Etsy’s beyond oversaturated. That it’s become impossible to find a niche with good search volume and low competition. So we looked up a bunch in this #51-100 group to see if we could find a “unicorn.” That is, a keyword with good search volume and low competition. Three do have sky-high monthly CTRs now and Competition stats in the green: curtains, custom plushie, and locket.
We love #76 “custom plushie” and deem it well worth your watching. It has proven search volume in the US. But for you lot, it appears brand new. It got 6,550 searches in January, but not much before that. So it doesn’t meet our unicorn criteria – yet! Competition though is enticingly low: just 805 UK listings have it!
That leaves us with “curtains” and “locket.”
#69 “curtains” – January CTR: 149%

And lo and behold: a unicorn! Average searches above 5,000/mo. Excellent Avg. CTR. And Etsy UK competition below 20,000 listings.
And wait, there’s more! Scroll down the page in Keyword Tool to the related searches table. “Linen curtains” has over 1,200 Average Searches; its Avg CTR is 108%, and for Competition? It’s got just 2,529 listings!
Next, “locket.” Given it’s jewelry (famously oversaturated on Etsy), we’re surprised. “Locket” has even lower competition than “curtains.” And a higher Avg CTR!
#80 “locket” – January CTR: 149%

Lockets began trending back in 2024. Remarkably, in January 2026 they are just a couple hundred searches down from their record peak back in November 2024. Looks like a lot of people are getting lockets for Valentine’s Day. And we bet for Mother’s Day, and given that big jump in May last year, maybe brides too?
Now back to the Roundup and fewer diversions! (But these were too good to not share both.)
Next, ranking #101-150
At #101 is desk, followed at #103-106 by lamp, runescape, sideboard, and pink. Next, there’s a pair of high flyers at #112-113: crochet pattern and console table. Skip two for #116-117 taylor swift and vase, then again for #119-120 wedding sign and weekly planner. Then at #122-125, a quartet: anniversary gift, adhd planner, bench, badge.
There’s a pair at #127-128, both high flyers: clocks and crochet patterns. Skip two and the high flyers continue with a septet! Gothic, iphone 17 pro max case, incense holder, art decor, plant pot, valentines day gifts, twitch emotes. Then at #139 is spell, followed at #142 by nine qualifiers in a row! These are 3d, 3d print files, animal crossing, birthday, watch, sofa, slime, svg and clock.
Ranked from #151-200
Straight out of the gate, we have a winner! It’s #151 furry and it’s got a CTR for the month of 149%.
Unicorn alert! #151 “furry” – January CTR: 149%

We featured furries and their gear at some length in this month’s US report. So we won’t repeat all that here. But if you’re here for ideas of what to sell on Etsy? And looking for a niche you can make your own? We highly recommend this one.
More high flyers from #152-157: dragon, f1, lighter, pilates, photo album, personalised mug. Skip one and the run continues with silksong, press on nails, moldavite, matchbook template, leggings. Drop down several and there’s another, #168 engagement ring. Skip two for five more: gold bracelet, digital planner, vtuber model, valentines gifts for her, templates. (We featured “vtuber model” in your November report’s Roundup; it’s still got 148% for this month.)
A trio is next: #177-179 aquarius gifts, birthday card for him, birthday gifts for him. Then skip just one for a quintet: abstract wall art, junk journal, japanese wall art, calendar 2026, bookends. Then at #188-189 there’s a pair: wedding welcome sign and procreate brushes, followed at #192 printable wall art. And just five more qualifiers in the Top 200: digital art, office wall art, lego, sewing, and skadis.
Finally, ranking #201-250
Here we start with a quintet: twitch overlay, book, custom pin badge, clothing, pregnancy announcement. Skip three for #209 vinland saga. Then at #211-212, a pair: stream overlay and spain. And starting at #214 are nine: suitcase, swords, thank you cards, logo, osrs, painting, overlays, men necklace, mask.
We especially like the looks of two of those.
#203 “custom pin badge” – January CTR: 149%

“Custom pin badge” has unicorn written all over it. What’s more, the UK has a GIANT piece of the global shopper pie for that one: 83%! That’s surpassingly rare. And here’s “stream overlay.”
#203 “stream overlay” – January CTR: 148%

New to this niche? These are designs and overlays needed by live streamers on Twitch, YouTube, Facebook Live, etc. Twice in 2025, “stream overlay” rocketed to 5,500+ UK searches/mo, in May and October. Then in December, it coupled 4,500+ searches with a CTR for the month of 149%. And you can’t beat that Competition stat – or rather, you can beat it, and easily! Only 2,226 UK listings have this keyword.
We’d say both “custom pin badge” and “stream overlay” qualify as unicorns.
Wrapping up this month’s Roundup…
At #224-231, you have an octet: music, patch, neon sign, choker, chess, chainsaw man, bukhoor, ceramic. By the way, keep an eye on “bukhoor,” Brits. For one thing, you’ve got an outsized 41% slice of the global shopper pie. For another, its Average CTR stands at 149%. And best of all, Competition is just 74 listings!
That said, so far it’s a single-month spike preceded by 14 with (literally) zero search volume. So, before investing your time or dosh, add “bukhoor” to a Keyword List. Let that tool watch it for you for a while first; see where it goes from here. Because search spikes have been known to disappear as quickly as they showed up.
Back on the Roundup, at #233-237 there’s a quintet: home gift, hollow knight, homeware, kitchen, hades. (We featured “homeware” in your Roundup last month; it’s still got 149% CTR now.) Next up, a quartet of qualifiers at #239-242: phone charm, picture frame, royale high, sim racing. And we end this one on quite a high note: a septet, every one a high flyer. From #244, secretlabs, red, birthday shirt, bird print, best friends frame personalised, artprint [sic], and 3d prints.
We hope some of these prove to be profitable leads for you!
