Fun! We have two previous Top 20s to compare with this one: this year’s first quarter, and last year’s Q2. Even at a glance though, we can tell some haven’t made any quarterly Top 20 before.
Here, our focus will be on what sells best on Etsy in springtime. Comparing this Q2’s top Etsy keywords to Q2 2024’s, we’ll see which are climbing and which are new. We call the latter “screamers” (because they scream to the top out of nowhere). Q2 2025 has twice as many of those than last year’s Q2 had, indicating unusual volatility.
Q2’s Top 20 Etsy searches new Year on Year
These are the climbers in current rank order, followed by their rank (if any) in Q2 last year.
Ranked 1st: “gift for him,” up from #340 in Q2 2024
2nd: “gift for her,” up from #306
3rd: “personalized gift,” up from #33
8th: “gift for mom,” (screamer: didn’t crack 2024’s Q2 Top 1000)
9th: “unique gift for mom,” (screamer)
13th: “pokemon,” up from #39
14th: “best gift for mom,” (screamer)
17th: “vintage,” up from #243
18th: “labubu,” (screamer)
19th: “vtuber,” up from #88
20th: “poster,” up from #30
Eleven climbers, four of them screamers. Too many to discuss them all; we know you’re busy. And we need to leave time at the end for Q2’s Roundup. See what the Top 250 Etsy trending searches tell us about what’s selling best on Etsy now.
So let’s see which climbers we can skip. Starting with the two trademarked ones, “pokemon” and “labubu.” Tempting as they may be, both brands are reknowned for rigorously defending their intellectual property.
And we can also skip “gift for him” and “gift for her.” We did a deep dive on those in Q1’s report. More like an homage; we were so happy to see them back on Top 20 lists. For years both had been regulars, then around 2023 they dropped out. Lol, we practically cried when they popped back up in December 2024, like seeing old friends.
As for our three Mother’s Day-related screamers, ::sigh:: Let’s just look at the first of these.
Ranked 8th: “gift for mom”
Etsy’s kept its promise to step up promoting, including on its own homepages. Etsy knows that gifts are its top searches (after all, they have ALL the data). A couple years ago, they created a Gifts widget and put it in the top spot. When we clicked it today, these were the results.

“Wedding” is its default destination now. We bet it was Mother’s Day in April and May. And we bet there were clickable promos labeled “unique gift for mom” and “best gift for mom.”
Here is “gift for mom” in Keyword Tool.

In April, “gift for mom” was up Year on Year by 1,607%. Meanwhile, can you guess what Q2 2024’s No. 2 search was? “Mothers day gift;” the same Etsy Top 20 fixture it’s always been in spring. Until 2025, that is; “mothers day gift” has fallen all the way down to #139.
Here’s “mothers day gift.”

Shocking, right? In April, “mothers day gift” got 74% fewer searches than “gift for mom.”
Yet “mothers day gift” has eRank’s Trend Alert banner waving it’s popular this week – in mid July! It also has less competition and a better Average CTR (click-through rate), which means more purchase intent.
Tip! Top Etsy searches and purchase intent
Are any of you new to selling online? Here’s a useful tip.
On ecommerce sites, click-through rates (CTRs) reflect how many times shoppers clicked listings in their search results. Therefore, CTRs are an indicator of “purchase intent.” These are people more likely searching with the intention to buy, as opposed to those just browsing.
So yes, knowing which are the most-searched keywords on Etsy is necessary. But for insight into which are selling best, look to their click-through rates.
As for what to do about those Etsy promo keywords? You can add them to a Keyword List if you want. But we doubt ones like “best gift for mom” will be back next year.
Ranked 3rd: “personalized gift,” up from #33 in Q2 2024
Another Top 20 regular! In fact, on 2024’s annual top Etsy searches list, “personalized gifts” ranked 14th, and “personalized gift” was 21st. The year before, “personalized gift” was No. 1. Let’s see how it’s doing now.

Holy cow, we knew it was popular but wow: “personalized gift” is HUGE right now! Year on Year for June, it’s up over 500%. This shopper search has been among the top Etsy searches since we began doing these reports. So what’s made “personalized gift” suddenly spike like this? If you’ve got a theory, we’d love to hear it.
Ranked 17th: “vintage,” up from #243 in Q2 2024
We’ve been talking about this one in several recent Etsy trend reports. “Vintage” has been trending on Etsy in other countries too. Let’s have a look at the US data.

And it’s not just Etsy; this revival of all things vintage is widely recognized. And it’s not your average fleeting fancy either. Rather, it’s being fueled by broadly-held ideals regarding resource conservation and thrift. Vintage sellers have had some lean years; we’re happy for you.
Anyone here researching what to sell on Etsy? Don’t be discouraged by that daunting Etsy Competition figure. Vintage is what we data geeks here at eRank refer to as “roomy.” As long as it’s 20+ years old, “vintage” can be anything: decor, clothing, tools, on and on. It is possible to find a niche in which you can do well.
Ranked 19th: “vtuber,” up from #88 in Q2 2024
From vintage to vtuber! we did a deep dive into this one for our May Etsy trend report. It’s another one also making other countries’ Etsy Top 20 lists in 2025. Here is how the US data looks.

As you can see, “vtuber” is way up over Q2 last year. In Australia’s Etsy trend report, we talked about “stream overlay,” as well as “twitch” and “twitch emotes.” These are similar to what more and more Vtubers are coming to Etsy for. We’re delighted; Etsy is the perfect market for this relatively-new industry.
While the number of streamers is down from its pandemic peak, searches didn’t make Top 20 lists back then. Clearly, on Etsy this niche of outfitting streamers is growing. Those of you looking for what to sell on Etsy who have the skills, we see opportunity here.
Ranked 20th: “poster,” up from #30 in Q2 2024
For a year+ now, this shopper search has been making lots of Etsy Top 20 lists. Here’s the US data.

Popular indeed! “Poster” ranked 26th overall on 2024’s list of top Etsy searches, up from 45th in 2023. In the past 15 months, searches haven’t dropped 40,000 searches/mo.
Good purchase intent too (if you’re reading along on a small screen, poster’s Average CTR is 116%). Calculated for Q2, it’s 122%. Even for Etsy, that’s high. And with that, let’s move on to our CTR Roundup for Q2. We’ll see what else has been selling best on Etsy these days.
Roundup! Q2’s top Etsy keywords with 125%+ CTRs
Here, we’re looking for Etsy trending searches that show the most purchase intent. We’ll whiz through Q2’s Top 250 keywords to identify which have second-quarter CTRs of 125%+. Researching what to sell on Etsy? This lightning round is for you!
Of the top ecommerce sites, we’ve found Etsy to have the most shopper searches with high CTRs. That said, even on Etsy, CTRs this high are rare. Particularly quarterly CTRs; Quarterly Roundups always have far fewer.
These calculations are drawn exclusively from Q2 2025 data. So, regardless of their 12-mo CTRs, these searches showed the most purchase intent in April through June. Which means that most should still be selling well now.
And any searches related to Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, you can add to a Keyword List. That way, you’ll have them ready for updating your SEO ahead of next year’s gift buyers. (And thereby get the jump on some of your competitors!)
A word of caution before we begin. Some of these shopper searches could definitely cause an Etsy seller problems. Whether protected by intellectual property rights or prohibited by Etsy, please look before you leap!
Ranked from #1-50
Note: For better readability, we’ll only shout out individual CTRs that are 140% and up. (Sky high, as you’ll see as we go along.) But all these qualifiers will have at least 125%.
There are just two in Q1’s Top 20: #16 keychain and #18 labubu. Moving on to the rest of the Top 50, Q2’s first CTR high flyer is #21 t shirt. It has 149% for the quarter (150% is as high as they go).
Next, there’s a pair of qualifiers at #24-25: crochet and sticker, then at #28 is phone case. After those, another high flyer: #30 press on nails with 145%. And we have just four more qualifiers in Q2’s Top 50. #37 mug; #41 cat, and the pair at #47-48: wallet and dice.
Ranking #51-100
The first in this section is #61 forsaken, followed by #74 furry. Then a pair of high flyers: #79-80 unisex softstyle tshirts (a perfect 150%!), and ita bag (142%).
A couple of qualifiers follow: #82 bookmark and #89 custom. Then another pair of top performers: #90-91 bag has 150% and watch has 143%. And the last in Q2’s Top 100 Etsy trending searches is #95 bookmarks.
Next, ranked #101-150
This set opens with #103 dnd dice. Skip ahead to #109-110 and there’s a pair, both with 150% CTRs: opal and pink. Next, a couple of singleton qualifiers: #112 plants and #115 witch, followed by #120 labubu clothes; it has 140%.
At #127 is deltarune; it has 149%, followed by #129 knife with 150%. And the next few are high flyers too: the pair at #141-142 perfume (142%) and beads (143%). And #144 flower; it has 148%. The last in this section is the pair at #147-148 mousepad and blue; the latter has 150%.
And from #151-200
Here, the first qualifiers are #162 goth and #164 book. Then we have yet another color with a perfect 150% CTR: #171 red.
A quick aside: In our monthly Etsy US Roundups, we’ve noticed one-word color searches always have 150% CTRs. Now, as mentioned, Etsy Quarterly Roundups have fewer high CTRs than its Monthly Roundups. Nevertheless, so far in Q2’s, we’ve got #110 pink, #148 blue, and #171 red, and all three have 150%.
Here is “blue” in Keyword Tool.

Look at that: “blue” is trending! Throughout 2025 so far, it’s been way up Year on Year.
And now back to our Roundup. Next, we have two singleton qualifiers: #179 bunny and #184 sword. Then comes #196 pin; it has 143%. And the last qualifier in this section is #199 fivem.
Finally, from #201-250
Ranking #202 is wood. In recent months, we’ve been noticing while doing our Etsy Category reviews that “wood” appears to be trending. Here it is in Trend Buzz.

“Leather” is No. 2 here, just below top-ranked “gold.” We’ve been saying that 2025 is a “leather year” on Etsy (some years just are). But for Q2, wood has leather beat; leather ranks down at #410.
And now back to our list for the last few. After #202 wood, the next qualifiers are the trio at #222-224: custom plush, collar, and coaster. Then yep, it’s another one-word color search with a perfect 150%: this one is #238 black. And the last for this Roundup also has 150%; it’s #250 sleep token.
We hope some of these prove to be profitable leads for you!
