Here’s the big news.
Ranked 6th: “earrings,” up from #23

“Earrings” has been the single Etsy keyword never to drop from the Top 20. Until March, that is. Since we began writing these Etsy trend reports in 2018, “earrings” has been the one constant. It’s been unnerving for us data geeks.
So we’re relieved to report “earrings” has rebounded nicely, and flashing both gold badges. “High Conversion!” means many shoppers using this keyword in the past 30+ days added to carts and purchased. And “Trending in Search!” indicates it continues to be among the top keywords on Etsy now.
Nevertheless, “earrings” is still lower in monthly search volume than it ever was before this February. But at least it’s climbing, right? Let’s take a quick look at what else is.
Top Etsy searches climbing highest fastest
In current rank order, here are April’s climbers, their rank in March listed last.
Ranked 4th: “mothers day,” up from #84
4th: “mothers day gift,” up from #129
6th: “earrings,” up from #23
13th: “project hail mary,” up from #37
14th: “mothers day gifts,” up from #767
16th: “sticker,” up from #21
17th: “tshirts,” up from #140
19th: “homedecor,” up from #508
20th: “poster,” up from #29
Most of these are as expected. Mother’s Day searches rising to the top, same as every April. “Sticker” and “tshirts” are so popular, both singular and plural forms frequently make the same Top 20. “Poster” is a Top 20 frequent flyer. “Project hail mary” is the latest hit film, unseating last month’s “resident evil.”
In short, there’s really only one notable climber to discuss.
Ranked 19th: “homedecor,” up from #508

In recent months, we’ve noticed seeing more and more keywords like “homedecor.” Two- and three-word search terms being smooshed into one. In its search history chart above, see how suddenly “homedecor” appeared? It went from 10 searches in October to November’s 55,000+, a 556,500% increase.
We are currently investigating these new compound-word searches we’ve been seeing in our data. Certainly, advanced search engine AI is known to do this. It can convert a search like “home decor” into one unique token in its backend data. Then the system treats the compound word as a single entity, which improves relevance, matching, and speed.
In theory, once converted to “homedecor,” matchability with its original two-word form “home decor” is preserved. If it works as it should, using “homedecor” in your SEO will match “home decor” shopper searches. Here at eRank, we’re doing some testing to see whether these do. Meanwhile, should you try experimenting with “homedecor” in your listing SEO? Well, let’s compare it with “home decor.”
Ranked #41: “home decor,” down from #11

“Homedecor” has MUCH less competition – just over 27,000 listings compared with 24 million for “home decor.” And as well, a far better click-through rate (CTR) than “home decor” has. When calculated for the month, “home decor” has a monthly CTR of 100% for both March and April. Whereas “homedecor” had a March CTR of 143%! And for April, it is still an exemplary 126%. Which translates to a good deal more purchase intent than has been shown recently for “home decor.”
Top searches on Etsy and purchase intent
For those of you who are new to selling online, here’s a quick explainer.
On ecommerce sites, click-through rates (CTRs) reflect how many times shoppers clicked listings in their search results. Therefore, CTRs are an indicator of ‘purchase intent.’ These are people more likely searching with the intention to buy, as opposed to those just browsing.
You’ll want to keep up with the top keywords on Etsy now, yes. But for insight into which are selling best, look to their click-through rates. It’s why we end all these trend reports with a Monthly CTR Roundup. You’ll see which of the current Top 200 keywords have had the highest CTRs most recently.
Analyzing monthly CTRs is how we spot opportunities for you. The product we prize above all has four+ months of good search volume, 125%+ CTR, and low competition. We call these unicorns (because people claim they no longer exist on Etsy). And yet in every Roundup lately, we have found at least one. So let’s go see if we can find more, shall we?
Roundup! Top keywords on Etsy now with 125%+ CTRs
Here for ideas of what to sell on Etsy? Then this is for you! Your insider access to which of this month’s 200 top Etsy searches show the most purchase intent. Keep in mind, these calculations are drawn exclusively from our most recent full month of data. Which means, whatever their 12-mo CTRs, most of these products are what’s selling best now. Any that are related to Mother’s Day, you can add to a Keyword List for next year.
Ranking #1-50
In last month’s Roundup, there was only one qualifier in the Top 20. For this month, we have five! Pokemon, project hail mary, sticker, tshirts, and homedecor. Both “sticker” and “tshirts” have 150% for the month; that’s as high as they go!
Moving on to the rest of the Top 50, at #21 is png; it also has 150%. Then at #32-33, there’s a pair of qualifiers: rugs and digital. Skip just one and we have ita bag– unicorn alert!
#35 “ita bag” – April CTR: 132%

We talked a lot about “ita bag” in our Q1 2026 trend report. It ranked 15th overall in Q1 (January-March), with that same High Conversion flag flying for the entire quarter. Looking for ideas of what to sell on Etsy? We love this one.
Just three more qualifiers in the Top 50: #40 halloween, #46 ring (150%), and #49 badge reel.
Ranked from #51-100
We’re off to a fine start here: it’s #59 dog with a perfect 150% CTR for the month. Skip just one and there’s a pair: suncatcher and stl; the latter has 150%. Then at #65 is sword (yet another with 150%), followed by #72-73 fallout and flower. Up next is #87 ugc portfolio template; it too has 150% for the month. And the final two qualifiers in this group are #89 sweatshirt and #100 resident evil.
Next, ranking #101-150
At #110 is sonic birthday invitation, then a quartet: #119-122 bag, vintage, pink, and keycaps. We have to pause here a moment to talk about the latter two. Were you aware of how hot pink is now? Above and beyond what’s usual for spring, we mean. In doing our monthly review of the Etsy Category Top 100 lists, we noticed it everywhere.
So we checked its stats in Keyword Tool, and sure enough. “Pink” is currently flying the High Conversion flag. And its average CTR is 142%! (That is wildly high for a 12-mo average.)
We featured unicorn keycaps in January’s Roundup; it ranked 7th then, with a monthly CTR of 150%. And it’s got 150% again this month. But since we showcased it so recently, we’ll choose another. At #132, there’s cufflinks with a handsome 150%, but its Competition is 50,000+ listings. So, we’ll go with #137 graduation stole.
#137 “graduation stole” – April CTR: 150%

A promising unicorn, “graduation stole” is making its annual climb that peaks in May. It also has sizeable rises in September and again in November-December. It’s late to make this year’s May peak; otherwise, we really like this one – and that’s not all! There are two more “stole” searches in this month’s Top 1000, custom graduation stole, and stole. Both have 150% CTRs for the month, and “custom graduation stole” is a unicorn!
#211 “custom graduation stole” – April CTR: 150%

This unicorn has half as many searches as “graduation stole,” but it also has half the competition. And “custom graduation stole” has a substantially higher Average CTR: 140%; “graduation stole” has 115%.
Resuming our Roundup now, this group’s final two are #138 ffxiv and #144 coffee table.
Finally, ranked from #151-200
First off, we have #153 bts jersey, then a pair: #157-158 lighter (150%!) and michael jackson. We featured both “lighter” and “lighter case” in January’s Roundup. “Lighter” has our “Trending Now” badge, so it’s still among the top keywords on Etsy now. (And “lighter case” is still a unicorn!)
Next up is #160 bundle; its monthly CTR is 150%. It’s also got both the gold High Conversion badge and a sky-high Average CTR too: 149%! So we know for sure these are selling well. The trouble with “bundle” is that its Competition stat is close to two million listings. So we’ll move along. Maybe just jot yourself a note: bundles are selling like absolute hotcakes on Etsy these days!
From #162-168, a septet: witch hat atelier, dnd dice, hetalia, mothersdaygift, bloodborne, carfax, and plush. Four are intellectual property, while selling Carfax reports violates both its and Etsy’s Terms of Service. So, of the seven, that leaves two.
#165 “mothersdaygift” – April CTR: 150%

“Mothersdaygift” is another of these compound-word terms like “homedecor” we mentioned earlier. If this search behaves as it should (which we’re investigating!), “mothersdaygift” should match shopper searches for “mothers day gift.” And using this form could give you an edge on sellers using high-competition “mothers day gift.” We will keep you posted! Meanwhile, if any of you want to do some A/B testing, we’d love to hear about it.
Speaking of high competition, we looked up #168 plush, and egad, ouch! Instead, may we suggest custom plushie? Because it’s a beauty of a unicorn. Behold!
#309 “custom plushie” – April CTR: 150%

And also plush keychain!

It too is a unicorn – and one that’s popular for adorning another current unicorn, “ita bag.” Why not sell both? Or all three: custom plushies, plush keychains, and ita bags. They’d be the same target market.
Next up on our Roundup are #172 twitch (150%!), #182 one piece, and #184 fursuit head. Furry searches are all over the Etsy Category Top 100 lists again this month. We mention this in every Roundup. Looking for ideas of what to sell on Etsy in a niche you could make your own? Fursuit spray is the No. 1 search in Bath & Beauty this month.
That said, our choice for this Roundup’s final featured keyword has to be #186 squishy.
#186 “squishy” – April CTR: 150%

On all three top marketplaces, we’ve been seeing searches for squishy toy NeeDoh soar. This March on Amazon, “needoh” ranked No. 3! But on Etsy, “squishy” ranks higher than #393 “needoh,” and its current CTR is higher too. And as you can see, “squishy” is a unicorn.
Winding up our Roundup now, we have #188 witchcraft with 150%. (By the way, “pay a witch” is No. 1 in Home & Living.) And we end with a pair: #193-194 book lover gift and christmas. Just as it did for March, “christmas” has 150%.
And that’s a wrap for this month, gang. Hope some of these prove to be profitable leads for you!
