Warning: Beware of trademarked terms. This report may contain keywords that are trademarked. USPTO Trademark Database. NOTE: In order to get you this report as soon as possible, search-volume figures are based on eRank’s best early estimates. By mid-month, search counts get confirmed and some ranks change but usually not a lot.
Last month’s trend report was a doozy. Near-record upheaval in the Top 20. Sixteen shopper searches that hadn’t made the previous month’s Top 20, six of which were “screamers.” That’s our pet name for Top 20 climbers that scream to the top, seemingly out of nowhere. Just a month back, they hadn’t even managed to crack the Top 1000.
Welp, for October we have 17 climbers to report, eight of them screamers. Has to be an Etsy US record. Yet, we don’t find this amount of Top 20 turnover as unnerving as last month’s. Some of those screamers just utterly stumped us. Like 9th-ranked “modern gifts.” Did 141K US shoppers really type that into Etsy search?
So first, let’s see how “modern gifts” is doing now.
Formerly ranked 9th: “modern gifts”
It got just 10 searches in October.

We are unsurprised that “modern gifts” has plummeted. What does surprise us is seeing that a million+ US sellers have this dud in their SEO. (If you’re new, SEO stands for “Search Engine Optimization.” Using in our listings the same keywords Etsy shoppers use to search for what they want. It’s how our products get found.)
That 99% Avg. CTR (click-through rate) stat is from its one-month spike. Expect that too to drop. So, if you are one of those million+ sellers, we’d say it’s safe to replace this keyword. That is, unless you are getting sales on that listing! Remember eRank’s Golden Rule: Never change the SEO of any listing that is selling well.
Next, let’s have a look at this month’s bumper crop of climbers.
Top searches on Etsy that climbed highest fastest
In order by current rank, followed by their former rank, here are October’s climbers.
Ranked 2nd: “christmas,” up from #87
3rd: “adult costume,” up from #126
4th: “shirt,” up from #217
6th: “personalized clothing gift” (screamer: didn’t make September’s Top 1000)
8th: “phone case,” up from #257
9th: “home decor gift,” screamer
10th: “wall art,” up from #68
11th: “home decor,” up from #40
12th: “crafting gift,” screamer
13th: “christmas shirt,” screamer
14th: “hedgehog,” screamer
15th: “tshirt,” screamer
16th: “necklace,” up from #137
17th: “pokemon,” up from #38
18th: “t shirt,” up from #788
19th: “font bundle,” screamer
20th: “donald trump,” screamer
The difference between this month’s screamers vs. last month’s is that most of these seem plausible. And the few that aren’t are so very Etsy, lol. Here, it looks like they just tacked “gift” onto the end of popular search terms.
6th: “personalized clothing gift”
9th: “home decor gift”
12th: “crafting gift”
The screamer we’re most eager to look up is one we’ve never seen make any Top 20 ever.
Ranked 14th: “hedgehog,” screamer
September’s Top 1000 had one hedgehog-related search, #583 “shadow the hedgehog.” Now there are three in the Top 100: this one, plus #48 “hedgehog amigurumi” and #53 “hedgehog amigurumi crochet pattern.”

Our research indicates it’s not that hedgehogs themselves are trending, though. Rather, it’s that hedgehog amigurumis are trending, both with crocheters and amigurumi fans. “Amigurumi” derives from two Japanese words — “ami,” meaning crocheted or knitted, and “nuigurumi,” meaning stuffed doll. Which is what these are, and with the rise of the kawaii (cute) culture, they are a HUGE global trend.
Not a niche we’d recommend though. They’ve got abysmal click-through rates, both average and monthly. For October, the month it soared to the Top 20, “hedgehog” has just 28%. “Hedgehog amigurumi” has 23%, and “hedgehog amigurumi crochet pattern” has 9%. Notably, of the top ecommerce sites, Etsy has the highest number of high CTRs. On Etsy, click-through rates below 50% indicate a significant dearth of purchase intent.
Tip! Top Etsy searches and purchase intent
For any of you new to selling online, this will be a useful tip.
On ecommerce sites, click-through rates (CTRs) reflect how many times shoppers clicked listings in their search results. Therefore, CTRs are an indicator of ‘purchase intent.’ These are people more likely searching with the intention to buy, as opposed to those just browsing.
Yes, it’s smart to keep up with the top Etsy searches. But for insight into which products are selling best, look to their click-through rates. It’s why we end these trend reports with a Monthly CTR Roundup. It lists which of the 250 top keywords on Etsy now have had the highest CTRs most recently. Like this next climber.
Ranked 4th: “shirt,” up from #217
Another thing that rattled us about September’s Top 20 was what wasn’t there. Like “shirt.” Altogether, there were 24 search terms with “shirt” in September’s Top 1000. Which may sound like a lot, but not compared to the norm; this month there are 61.
None made September’s Top 20; the norm is to see at least two. This month, there are four! Here’s the highest-ranked, “shirt.”

See that light gold badge above the keyword stats chart? It’s new with this new and improved version of Keyword Tool. We data geeks love that thing! It indicates this search has “High Conversion.” eRank saw lots of shoppers adding to cart and purchasing who used this keyword in the past 30 days.
“Shirt” has a 12-mo CTR of 119%, which for Etsy is higher than average. And when calculated for the month? Its October CTR is 150%. That’s as high as these go. As do the rest of the shirt searches in this Top 20: they all have 150% monthly CTRs.
In fact, this month there are nine shopper searches in the Top 20 with 150% CTRs. Which might be a record for an Etsy US Top 20. So let’s get to them, along with everything else that’s selling well on Etsy now, shall we?
Roundup! Top keywords on Etsy now with 125%+ CTRs
Here to find out what to sell on Etsy? This is your insider access to which of the 250 top Etsy searches have had the highest CTRs most recently. Remember, high click-through rates are the best indicator of purchase intent. These calculations are based exclusively on their search volume and clicks in our most recent full month of data. So, regardless of their 12-mo CTRs, these products should be what’s selling best on Etsy now.
Before we begin, our usual word to the wise. Some of these shopper searches could cause an Etsy seller problems. Whether protected by intellectual property rights or prohibited by Etsy, please look before you leap.
Ranked from #1-50
For the sake of readability, we’ll only shout out a handful of individual CTRs. Instead, we’ll just list the top keywords on Etsy now with CTRs of 125%+. Even for Etsy, a CTR that high is exceptional – certainly worth adding to a Keyword List for further research.
Of October’s Top 20, these show the most purchase intent, beginning with the quartet at #2-5. Christmas, adult costume, shirt, stickers. Next, two pairs: #7-8: earrings, phone case and #10-11 wall art, home decor. The final five qualifiers are #13 christmas shirt, then #15-18 tshirt, necklace, pokemon, and t shirt.
Let’s pause to take a closer look at that last one, “t shirt.” Because it’s interesting.
#18 “t shirt” – October CTR: 150%

Here we can see that “t shirt” had a similar drop last year in September. Then it began to climb again that October to a high in November. Looks like lots of people get t shirts for Christmas? And for Valentine’s Day?
Compared with last year, for both September and October, “t shirt” searches are up. Not by much in September, but October had 34,840 searches: up 76% over October 2024.
Now, back to our Roundup and the rest of the qualifiers in the Top 50. The next is the trio at #23-25: crochet, fursuit, womens clothing. Skip two and there’s a pair, both of them with 150%! These are halloween png and cozy accessories gift. The latter has an Etsy promo ring to it – but who cares? Looks like shoppers went on to click through loads of listings.
Skip just one and there’s a trio of highflyers: #31-33 vtuber, halloween shirt, mens clothing. Skip one again and there’s a quartet: christmas png, ring, sweatshirt, labubu. Then at #40 is kpop demon hunters. The final four qualifiers in this group of 50 are #42-45 ita bag, thanksgiving, poster and cosplay.
Ranking #51-100
Here we open with #56 candle, and it’s a winner!
#56 “candle” – October CTR: 150%

“Candle” has both gold badges: one for high conversion, the other indicating it’s still trending this week.
Returning to our Roundup, up next is an entire octet of qualifiers. From #58-65: press on nails, crochet pattern, keycaps, painting, png, halloween costume, hoodie, and ornament. Skip one and there’s #67 mug. Then skip three and at #71-73, there’s a trio: candles plural (which also has 150%!), anime, deltarune.
Ranked #75-77 are book, ghost, sword. These are followed by a quartet: #83-86 mask, mushroom, tarot, heart. Skip one and there’s a pair: digital download and christmas phone case. A couple singleton qualifiers next: #93 bookmark and #96 lanyard, both with 150% for October. And the last three in the Top 100 are the first three of a quartet: #98-99 hat, corset, aphrodite.
Ranking from #101-150
The fourth of that last quartet is #101 fall decor gifts. (Which we bet is another instance of Etsy just sticking “gifts” onto the end of a popular shopper search. “Fall decor” ranked No. 1 in September.) Next are #104 custom; #106 fall png; and the pair at #108-109: tote bag and thanksgiving shirt. The latter is another shirt search with a 150% CTR for the month.
At #111 is rugs; skip one for a quartet: 3d printed, vtuber model, outdoor halloween decor, ebook. The next is #118 calendar; it has 150%. Skip one for a quintet of qualifiers: lamp, notebook, homestuck, moss, tarot reading. Then skip two and there’s two pairs: #131-132 kandi, leather and #135-136 custom plush, buttons, and then #138 costume.
Next, a quintet: #140-144 desk mat, halloween wall decor, 2026 calendar, the life of a showgirl, frog. We have to stop for “frog.”
#144 “frog” – October CTR: 150%

“Frog” is another double winner sporting both golden badges, one for selling well and one for trending now.
Jumping right back in, the final two qualifiers in this group are #146 bundle and #148 coffee table.
Next, ranked #151-200
This set opens with a pair, #152-153 bracelets and patches. Next is #156 stream overlay and then three pairs: #158-159 clothing, keyboard; #162-163 vintage jewelry, watch; #165-166 charm bracelet, showgirl. At #170 is spell (which has a 150% CTR for October), followed by #172 silksong. Skip over three and there’s a pair, crucifix and fivem.
At #179-184 is a sextet: love and deepspace, bad bunny, fnaf, smiski, kingdom hearts, and digimon. Skip two and we have #187 one piece. Skip one for lord of the rings and christmas tshirt (another shirt search with 150%!).
Just six more here, beginning with #192-193 magic the gathering and digital prints. Then #195 gift box; #197-198 scarf, perfume, and #200 custom keychain.
Finally, ranked #201-250
Our last group of qualifiers for this month’s Roundup begin with #202 wicked and #204 fidget. Skip one and we have a quartet, all highflyers: stained glass, y2k, jewelry box, journal.
But hang on there just a minute. Can’t believe that this only now struck us. Here we’ve been, keeping our data-geek eyes peeled for the next big “Mid Century Modern” style trend. Yet all along, “y2k” has been right here under our noses.
#207 “y2k” – October CTR: 150%

Certainly, “y2k” has earned a shoutout, given that stratospheric monthly CTR. It even has both badges, too. So what if it’s down Year on Year and Month on Month just now. As you can see, its nature appears to be volatile. But in 15 months, those lows haven’t once dropped below 5,500 searches/mo.
Here for ideas of what to sell on Etsy? Products in this niche are worth researching. And don’t be daunted by that Competition stat. Have a look at Y2K’s related searches table in Keyword Tool. After the top three searches, Competition drops to doable. Here’s a quick demo.
Demo: How to “niche down” a competitive keyword
First, for Match type, we selected “Broad.” Then, just look at what happened when we clicked the “Search Trend” header. Doing this sorts the results to show what’s trending highest now. Check it out.

Second from the top is “y2k ring.” While its Average Searches are underwhelming (just 373), in October it had 2,520 searches. Its 15-mo high was back in September 2024 when it had well over 3,000. This past September, it had about half that. But it has an Average CTR of 147%; that’s spectacular!
Even better is its Competition stat: fewer than 4,000 US listings use this keyword. For a jewelry item on Etsy, that’s practically miraculous. And as you can see, out of the top seven searches, six have invitingly low competition. All had 1,000+ searches in October; four have exceptional 12-mo CTRs.
Back to the Roundup…
Speaking of exceptional CTRs, next up is a septet, every one with a sky-high current CTR. From #212: purple, amethyst, hats, coach, jersey, minecraft, chiikawa. Skip just one and there’s a quartet of qualifiers: incense, keycap, bloodborne, daft punk helmet.
Next is #225 groomsmen gifts, then #228-229 furry and disney shirt. Skip just one and we have another quartet: hollow knight, nsfw, mugs, twitch emotes. Then there’s #237 dice; #240 storage organization; and #242-243 t shirts (150%) and template.
Wreath is another superstar with 150%; it ranks #245 alongside #246 disney. And the final three for this month are #249-250 omnitrix, pink and car.
We hope some of these prove to be profitable leads for you!
