We love getting our mitts on these quarterly Top Keywords lists! The quirks and single-month spikes driven by Etsy promos and influencers are smoothed out. So, quarterly rankings more accurately reflect current trends, both fads and old favorites. (Although this year, it appears that Q4 2025 has been more about old favorites and short on fads.)
We always start by comparing the current quarter’s Top 20 with the year’s previous quarterly Top 20s. When we reach Q4, we get to see the searches that have made all four lists. We think of these as the “mainstays” of the good ship Etsy. They’ve kept the mast upright and steady against forward pressure, preventing it from snapping and collapsing in rough seas. And it sure seemed like there were some rough seas in 2025, eh?
Mainstays: 2025’s All-Quarter Etsy Top Searches
In Q4 rank order, followed by their ranks in Q3, then Q2 and Q1, we present the nine mainstays of 2025. [drumroll]
#4 shirt (#10 in Q3; #10 in Q2; #15 in Q1)
#5 stickers (#2 in Q3; #4 in Q2; #3 in Q1)
#6 earrings (#3 in Q3; #7 in Q2; #4 in Q1)
#7 necklace (#17 in Q3; #11 in Q2; #7 in Q1)
#8 pokemon (#16 in Q3; #13 in Q2; #8 in Q1)
#9 jewelry (#4 in Q3; #15 in Q2; #10 in Q1)
#11 wall art (#6 in Q3; #6 in Q2; #1 in Q1)
#18 keychain (#20 in Q3; #16 in Q2; #19 in Q1)
#19 rings (#19 in Q3; #12 in Q2; #9 in Q1)
A year ago by Q4, this list had been whittled down to just five keywords! Having nine suggests that Etsy shopper behavior has been less flighty this past year. Here’s a look at the highest-ranked mainstay of 2025.
Ranked 4th in Q4 2025: shirt

And it’s still sporting eRank’s gold badge for “High Conversion.” That indicates “shirt” has been added to lots of carts and purchased the past 30 days. Above right, the 15-mo line chart makes it easy to compare October through December 2024 with 2025’s Q4. We can see “shirt” climbed steeply this October and then kept right on soaring.
That said, “shirt” reached its 15-mo high back in July. Think it will top that this coming summer? We think it likely; it’s already just 10,000 searches shy of it.
Now that we’ve compared quarters, next let’s compare Q4s Year to Year. Identifying which Top 20 keywords weren’t on 2024’s list is another way to tell which trends are climbing.
2025 Climbers Year on Year
#4 shirt, up from #38 in Q4 2024
#7 necklace, up from #22 in Q4 2024
#12 tshirt, up from #31 in Q4 2024
#13 phone case, up from #154 in Q4 2024
#16 christmas shirt, up from #45 in Q4 2024
#17 crochet, up from #55 in Q4 2024
#18 keychain, up from #23 in Q4 2024
#20 jewelry gift, up from #252 in Q4 2024
Let’s look at three that climbed to the top from farthest down a year ago.
Ranked 13th: phone case, up from #154 in Q4 2024

“Phone case” has both gold badges! For high conversion this month and for trending in search this week. For Q4 2025, “phone case” garnered 155,500+ searches, up 176% over Q4 2024. Even better? A year ago in Q4, it had a CTR of 100%. For this Q4, it has a CTR of 150%; that indicates a ton of purchase intent.
Tip: Top Etsy searches and purchase intent
For any of you new to selling online, this will be a useful tip.
On ecommerce sites, click-through rates (CTRs) reflect how many times shoppers clicked listings in their search results. Therefore, CTRs are an indicator of ‘purchase intent.’ These are people more likely searching with the intention to buy, as opposed to those just browsing.
You’ll want to keep up with the top Etsy keywords, yes. But for insight into what’s selling best on Etsy, look to their click-through rates. It’s why we end these trend reports with a Quarterly CTR Roundup. It’s your insider access to which of the Top 250 searches have the highest CTRs this quarter. First though, a couple more of these climbers.
Ranked 16th: christmas shirt, up from #45 in Q4 2024

Year on Year, “christmas shirt” is up 21% this Q4. The big story here though is that Avg. CTR stat: 149%. And for Q4, it’s 150%. They get no higher. If you’d like to give this one a try, add it to a Keyword List and check back in July. As you can see, it starts climbing well in advance.
Any newbies here for ideas of what to sell on Etsy, don’t let that Competition stat put you off. You just need to “niche down.” Here’s a super quick tutorial on how to use Keyword Tool to do that.
Demo: how to niche down a competitive keyword
At the top of the table, we chose “Exact” for match type. This will show us all shopper searches with the phrase “christmas shirt.” Then we sorted the results to see which are trending most recently. (Just click the “Search Trend” header circled here in green.)

We only needed to scroll down about a dozen to see the first one here, “meowy christmas shirt.” It shows zero searches for December, but we moused over those bars in its Search Trend graph. In September, it got over 5,000 searches and another 1,500+ in November. Yet its Competition is in the green: fewer than 10,500 listings use it. This one’s definitely worth further research!
Circled in purple is another with accessible competition, “six seven christmas shirt.” A meme that went viral in 2025, “six seven” and “67” began trending on Etsy this past fall. This particular keyword got 5,500+ searches in November. Best practice with a single-month spike though is to proceed with caution before you invest. We’re not sure we’ll see this one in November 2026.
You can use this procedure to niche down any keyword with competition in the red. It would come in handy with this next climber, “crochet.”
Ranked 17th: crochet, up from #55 in Q4 2024

We talked about crochet in our annual Etsy trend report for 2025; it ranked 17th on that Top 20 too. We like it a lot! Seven “crochet” searches made Q4’s Top 1000, four of them in the Top 100. And its Q4 CTR has risen from under 120% in 2024 to 139% for Q4 this year. That signals excellent purchase intent!
Speaking of which, now let’s go see which of these top Etsy searches are Etsy top sellers, shall we?
Roundup! Q4’s top Etsy searches with 125%+ CTRs
Here, we’re rounding up Q4’s 250 highest-ranked keywords that show the most purchase intent. A click-through rate of 100% indicates buyers are highly engaged, clicking multiple listings in search result pages. CTRs of 125% are exceptionally high; any keyword that qualifies for a Roundup is worth your time. We’ll also shout out any opportunities we see that might help you get a jump on your competitors.
Tip! Add any Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Valentine searches that interest you to specific Keyword Lists. That way, you’ll be a step ahead on product research for 2026 holiday shoppers.
Ranked from #1-50
A stellar start: all but three of Q4’s 20 top Etsy searches are also Etsy top sellers! Ranking #1 and #2, gift and christmas both have 145% CTRs for Q4. Then there’s qualifier personalized gift, followed by a quintet of high flyers: shirt, stickers, earrings, necklace, pokemon. At #9 is qualifier jewelry; skip just one and there’s a trio, all high flyers: wall art, tshirt, phone case. Skip two and there’s christmas shirt with its perfect 150%, followed by qualifier crochet. Then at #18-19, we have keychain and rings, both with 144%+.
Moving on to the rest of Q4’s Top 50, we have five in a row with 143%+ CTRs. First there’s #21 mug and #23 ornament, then the trio
at #26-28: sweatshirt, cat, dispatch. Next we have qualifier last minute gifts, followed by ring, bracelet, mens clothing and womens clothing.
At #35-37, another trio of high flyers: homedecor [yep, one word], keycaps, hoodie. Then qualifier furniture has less but remember: any CTR of 125%+ is well worth researching! It’s followed by a sextet with 144%+: poster, ita bag, digital products, christmas png, vtuber, candles. Skip one and there’s another high flyer: #46 custom, followed by qualifier #48 sticker and #50 t shirt. “T shirt” has 150%.
Ranking #51-100
There’s a pair at #53-54: home decor and candle. Skip one and there’s a quartet: vintage, witch, planner, ornaments. Then at #61-63, a trio with 142%+: fallout, press on nails, christmas sweatshirt. Skip one for two more high flyers, wicked and vtuber model.

Next, ranked from #101-150
At #101-104, another quintet, all with 143%+ CTRs for Q4: tarot, homestuck, dnd, stranger things. Next is qualifier art, then smiling friends and two more qualifiers: #111-112 stockings and journal. Up next, a quartet of high flyers: rug, hoodies, elden ring and sword. We featured “sword” in the Roundup in our annual Etsy trend report for 2025. It also made December’s Roundup with a 150% CTR. It has the same 150% for Q4.
A couple of singletons follow: #118 desk mat and #120 thanksgiving; both have 150% CTRs. Skip two for qualifier #123 art prints, then we’re back aloft with deltarune and advent calendar. Skip one for qualifier posters, followed by a trio at #128-130 with 142%+: scarf, pngtuber, pins. You know, PNGTubers use simpler, less complex 2D images. If you wanted to get into the VTuber niche, you might start with making stuff for PNGTubers. Let’s take a quick look.
#129 “pngtuber” – Q4 2025 CTR: 143%

Back to our list, at #132 there’s qualifier dnd dice, followed by lamp; lamp has 150% for Q4. Skip one and there’s a quartet: cosplay, furry, fnaf, tote bag. Skip two and there’s a pair: mugs and christmas sweater. Then skip one for another pair, #144-145 wedding and bookmark. Finally, two singletons: #147 lord of the rings and #149 dragon; dragon has 147% for the quarter.
Ranking #151-200

Staring at #188, a quartet with 140%+ CTRs: custom plush, chainsaw man, riftbound, arc raiders. Then there’s a qualifier keychains, followed by #193 coasters; it has 150%.
#193 “coasters” – Q4 2025 CTR: 150%

This one has it all! Gold badges for having high conversion and trending in search. High Avg. Searches count; well above average Avg. CTR. And alas, high Competition to match. But you know what to do: niche down. If you’re new, just follow the tutorial we did here earlier.
Winding up the Top 200, two with 146%+ Q4 CTRs: svg and love and deepspace. The final three: roblox, ayn thor and sweatshirt.
Finally, ranked #201-250
Our first qualifier here is #201 pink, followed by three with 140%+ CTRs for Q4: zelda, forsaken, homeware. We talked about “homeware” in our December trend report’s Roundup. It only began trending in August; we recommend it if you sell anything home-related.
At #208-209 there’s a pair: qualifier y2k and digital. Skip just one and there’s a trio of high flyers: twitch emotes, magic the gathering and green. We featured “green” in our Annual report’s Roundup; it had a 149% CTR for the year! Then at #214 is qualifier phone charm, followed by beanie with 150%.
Skip one and there’s a pair of qualifiers at #217-218: stained glass and golf. Skip one again and there’s a trio: rugs, disney and plants. Then, beginning at #223, we have a run of nine high flyers. The first five: christmas phone case, kirby, kingdom hearts, charms, stream overlay. Skip one and the rest are valentine, nails, sleep token, and coaster.

And the final five for this Roundup: gift for mom, keycap, fabric, mushroom and room decor.
We hope some of these prove to be profitable leads for you!
