Wow: surprises! We always start our trend reports by comparing the current Top 20 searches with the previous list. It’s the quickest way to spot rising trends. For our Quarterly reports, we compare quarters Year on Year, i.e., Q1 2026 with Q1 2025. Even Year on Year, the same quarters have more in common: their season, their main gift-buying holiday. Of course, we expect more change than we see in our monthly trend reports.

Even so, this Q1 2026 Top 20 list got our data geek heart rates going! And it isn’t “climbers” (new keywords making this Q1 Top 20 that weren’t in last year’s). No, what caught our eye is what’s now in the Top 3 – and what’s not.

No. 1: “tshirt,” up from #13 in Q1 2025

On the left, Etsy Q1 2026 keyword stats for “tshirt.” Right, the line chart tracks its search volume over the past 15 months. Notably, "tshirt" has both gold badges: for high conversion, and for being among the top Etsy searches this week.

No. 3: “shirt,” up from #15 in Q1 2025

Left, Etsy Q1 2026 keyword stats for “shirt.” The line chart tracks its search volume over the past 15 months. The gold "High Conversion" badge indicates lots of shoppers using this keyword in the past 30 days added to carts and purchased.

Sometimes, it is easier to spot a sea change in quarterly data. Q1 2024 had no shirt searches in its Top 20. In Q1 2025, none made its Top 10. This year, Q1 has two in the Top 3!

We had gotten so used to seeing “wall art” in that top spot, it came as a shock that it’s not.

Last year’s Q1 No. 1: “wall art,” now #9

Left, Etsy Q1 2026 keyword stats for “wall art.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume. "Wall art" has both gold badges, for 30+ days of high conversion, and being among the top Etsy searches this week.

It is a relief to see both badges; shoppers are still flocking to Etsy for wall art. And buying! “Wall art” actually has a better Q1 click-through rate now than it had in Q1 2025. Isn’t that what matters most?

Click-through rates and purchase intent

For those of you who are new to selling online, here’s a quick explainer.

On ecommerce sites, click-through rates (CTRs) reflect how many times shoppers clicked listings in their search results. Therefore, CTRs are an indicator of ‘purchase intent.’ These are people more likely searching with the intention to buy, as opposed to those just browsing.

You’ll want to keep up with the latest Etsy trending searches, sure. But for insight into which are selling best, look to their click-through rates. It’s why we end every trend report with a “CTR Roundup.” You’ll see which of the current top Etsy searches have had the highest CTRs most recently.

Before we get to Q1’s Roundup though, we’ll be taking a quick look at its climbers. So here’s a teaser: this quarter’s Top 20 search with the highest CTR.

#18 sticker – Q1 CTR: 147%

Left, Etsy Q1 2026 keyword stats for “sticker.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume. "Sticker" has both gold badges, for 30+ days of high conversion, and it's also among the top Etsy searches this week.

147% is a ton of purchase intent! And for a 12-mo average, that 127% CTR is pretty stunning, too.

Q1 Top 20 searches new Year on Year

These are the keywords that weren’t in last year’s Q1 Top 20. They are in current rank order, their former rank listed last.

Ranked 4th: “valentines day gift,” up from #140 in Q1 2025

13th: “phone case,” up from #85

15th: “ita bag,” up from #136

16th: “ring,” up from #27 (but “rings” ranked 9th)

17th: “crochet,” up from #32

18th: “sticker,” up from #69

19th: “womens clothing,” up from #54

20th: “heated rivalry” (not in Q1 2025’s Top 1000)

Since its plural ranked 9th in Q1 2025, “ring” shouldn’t count as a climber. Conversely, “sticker” deserves double points. Last year’s Q1 Top 20 had just the one entry, #3 “stickers.” This year, “stickers” is in second place plus there’s #18 “sticker.”

In the US, Q1’s main gift-buying holiday is Valentine’s Day. While exact-search “valentines day gift” ranked #140 last year, four other Valentine-related searches made its Q1 Top 20. This year, we’re down to just the one. Could be more Etsy shoppers preferred clicking an Etsy “Valentine’s Day Gift” promo instead of typing searches. But last year’s Q1 breakout star #14 “galentine gift” does appear to have lost favor. This Q1, the highest “galentine” search ranks #126.

As for the rest of these climbers, “womens clothing” is more Category than keyword. And “heated rivalry” is protected intellectual property; enough said. Which leaves three and from 2023 on, none of these have made a Q1 Top 20 before.

Ranked 13th: “phone case,” up from #85 in Q1 2025

Left, keyword stats for “phone case.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume. And "phone case" has both gold badges, for 30+ days of high conversion, and being among the top Etsy searches this week.
Left, keyword stats for “phone case.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume. And “phone case” has both gold badges, for 30+ days of high conversion, and being among the top Etsy searches this week.

Of course, phone cases have been making the occasional monthly Etsy Top 20 for years. The same is true of “crochet.” While this may be its Q1 Top 20 debut, “crochet” has made a number of monthly Top 20 lists.

Ranked 17th: “crochet,” up from #32

Left, keyword stats for “crochet.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume. And "crochet" has both gold badges, "High Conversion" and "Trending in Search."

This next one though has only just begun to make Top 20 lists in 2026. But it sure has been starring in lots of Monthly CTR Roundups!

Ranked 15th: “ita bag,” up from #136

Left, keyword stats for “ita bag.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume. And it has the gold "High Conversion" badge. Lots of shoppers who used this keyword in the past 30 days added to carts and purchased.

“Ita bag” is what we fondly call a unicorn (because Etsy naysayers claim they don’t exist). These unicorns are products with proven demand, search history, purchase intent, low competition. Just as you see here.

So, let’s go see if we can find some more, shall we?

Roundup! Top Etsy keywords with 135%+ Q1 CTRs

Here for ideas of what to sell on Etsy? Then this is for you! Your insider access to which of Q1’s top Etsy searches show the most purchase intent.

Keep in mind, these calculations are drawn exclusively from this quarter’s data. Which means, whatever their 12-mo CTRs, most of these products should be what’s selling best now. As for any related to Valentine’s Day or Easter shopping, add them to a Keyword List. That way, you’ll be a step ahead on your SEO and product research for next year.

Ranking #1-50

Note: for readability, we’ll only shout out individual CTRs above 145%. But every keyword listed here will have at least 135%, which is wildly high. Which in turn means any that interest you are worth researching.

There are five qualifiers in Q1’s Top 20: #3 shirt, #13-15 phone case, keycaps, ita bag, and #18 sticker. Moving on to the rest of the Top 50, at #21 we have valentine. It’s followed by high flyer #32 digital with 150%, and #34 digital products. Up next: #38 bookmark, then Roundup regular #40 fursuit.

#40 fursuit – Q1 CTR: 136%

Left, keyword stats for “fursuit.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume. "Fursuit" has both gold badges, "High Conversion" and "Trending in Search."
Left, keyword stats for “fursuit.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume. “Fursuit” has both gold badges, “High Conversion” and “Trending in Search.”

As we have been saying for awhile now, “fursuit” is a unicorn.

And the last three qualifiers in this set of 50 are #43-44 candle and valentines and #48 jewelry box.

Ranked from #51-100

Here, we open with four more Roundup regulars: #52 dice (146%), #60 furry, #63 anime (150%!), and #65 vtuber model. Next up, #67 resident evil, #76 pins, #80 fivem, #83 riftbound, then #85-86 blue (147%) and home gifts. Then at #94-97, a quartet: calendar, cosplay, homestuck, hoodie. And the final two are both high flyers: #99-100 dnd dice and custom plush.

Next, ranked #101-150

At #102 is chiikawa, followed by #105 gachiakuta. There’s a pair at #108-109: disney and photocard holder. Unicorn Alert!

#109 photocard holder – Q1 CTR: 138%

Left, keyword stats for “photocard holder.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume. It also has eRank's gold "High Conversion" badge.

Right now, “photocard holder” qualifies as a unicorn on Etsy US, UK, and Canada. Check them out: super cute! They’re popular for displaying the K-pop photocards that fans collect. Or to dangle from backpacks, bags, keychains amid all things Y2K and K-pop. Both are massive and global trends.

In fact, we’re surprised Etsy listing competition for “photocard holder” is still this accessible. Anyone looking for what to sell on Etsy in an upbeat, low-barrier niche you could make your own? This one looks promising.

Moving on, at #122-123 we have bag and limbus company. Skip one and there’s Roundup frequent flyer pngtuber. Then we have a ways to go before the next, a trio: #145-147 tumbler, dog and valentine shirt. The latter two have 147% Q1 CTRs.

Ranked from #151-200

Right off, another high flyer.

#154 purple – Q1 CTR: 150%

Left, keyword stats for “purple.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume. "Purple" has both gold badges, "High Conversion" and "Trending in Search."

We aren’t sure why, but single-word color names make every Etsy Roundup. (Not Amazon’s, not eBay’s: just Etsy’s.) And just feast your eyes on that 12-mo Avg. CTR: 146%! That is phenomenally high. As for what particular purple product it is that shoppers want, you can try this time-honored trick.

Better yet, scroll down purple’s page in Keyword Tool to its related searches table. “Purple rug” and “purple curtains” both got 1,000+ searches in March.

And right after “purple” on our Roundup, the next two qualifiers are also colors. And high flyers! These are #165 gold and #167 black; both have 150% CTRs for Q1.

After those we have two pairs: #184-185 silver and kirby, then #191-192 christmas and elden ring. “Christmas” has 150%! Ardent post-holiday bargain hunters?

#191 christmas  – Q1 CTR: 150%

Left, keyword stats for “christmas.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume. "Christmas" has both gold badges, "High Conversion" and "Trending in Search."

Whoa! Looks like it. “Christmas” has both badges – in mid-April!

As always, we love hearing what you think!
