Greetings, upstairs neighbors! You’ve got similar turnover in your Top 20 as last month’s, which is to say higher than average. But that’s to be expected as shoppers scrambled to switch from Christmas gift shopping to Valentine’s.
No. 2: “valentines day gift” (not in Dec.’s Top 1000)

Hope you’re still busy fulfilling orders! So, we’ll do our best to be quick. Let’s get right to what’s new in your Top 20 that wasn’t in the last one.
Canada’s top Etsy searches climbing highest fastest
You have 14 climbers this month; of these, five are what we data geeks fondly call “screamers.” (Because they seem to scream into the Top 20, seemingly out of nowhere. Just the month before, they hadn’t even cracked your Top 1000.)
Ranked 2nd: “valentines day gift,” screamer
3rd: “heated rivalry,” up from #54
4th: “galentines gifts,” screamer
5th: “wedding gifts,” up from #609
7th: “rug,” up from #41
9th: “dnd,” up from #63
11th: “vtuber model,” screamer
12th: “valentines day,” up from #680
13th: “digital products,” up from #224
14th: “lamp,” up from #87
15th: “self care gift,” screamer
17th: “home gifts,” screamer
18th: “crochet,” up from #86
20th: “sticker,” up from #268 (but “stickers” ranked 6th)
Too many to discuss all these; we want to get to your Etsy top sellers. So let’s see: four of these we can skip because they aren’t organic shopper searches. Rather, they stem from Etsy homepage promos. The US, UK, and Australia also have all four spiking in their top Etsy searches now, too. That always points to Etsy.
The four are #2 “valentines day gift,” #4 “galentines gifts,” #15 “self care gift,” and #17 “home gifts.” All four are screamers and the only one that shows any interest from buyers is “valentines day gift.” And speaking of lacking in buyer interest…
Ranked 9th: “dnd,” up from #63

We don’t believe we’ve ever seen “dnd” make any country’s Etsy Top 20 before. Of course, Dungeons and Dragons is the OG, beloved for 50 years. D&D-related searches always make every Etsy Top 1000. Just never ranking quite so high. Year on Year, “dnd” is up 284%!
Yet, despite it’s being among your highest trending Etsy searches, “dnd” doesn’t appear to be leading to sales currently. Of your Top 20, it has got by far the lowest click-through rate for the month. It’s a meager 56%. Which, for Etsy, indicates a shocking lack of purchase intent. We’ll explain.
Top Etsy searches and purchase intent
Are any of you folks new to selling online? Then this will be a useful tip.
Tip! On ecommerce sites, click-through rates (CTRs) reflect how many times shoppers clicked listings in their search results. Therefore, CTRs are an indicator of ‘purchase intent.’ It suggests people more likely searching with the intention to buy, as opposed to those just browsing.
You do want to keep up with which of Canada’s top Etsy keywords are trending. But for insight into what’s selling best on Etsy, look to their click-through rates. It’s why we end these trend reports with a Monthly CTR Roundup. It lists which of your top 250 keywords have had the highest CTRs most recently.
First though, we need to see two more of these.
Ranked 11th: “vtuber model,” screamer

Back in March, you had both “vtuber” and “vtuber model” making their debuts in your Top 20. So, in that trend report, we talked quite a bit about VTubers and the niche of provisioning them. Then, as you can see, “vtuber” soared again in May and July; now, it’s at its 15-mo high.
And just feast your eyes above left on those keyword stats! Average searches well above 3,000/mo; even better, that Competition stat: only 363 Etsy CA listings have this keyword. And of course we love that Avg. CTR: 121% is well above average. All in all, “vtuber model” has earned our highest rating: Unicorn.
“Unicorn” is what we’ve begun calling Etsy top sellers we find that have good search volume and low competition. Because for years now on every Etsy forum, we’ve been hearing how Etsy’s way too saturated. How it’s no longer possible to find a niche with high demand and low competition. Well then, we guess that makes “vtuber model” a unicorn, eh?
And for those of you reading along for ideas of what to sell on Etsy, here’s another!
Ranked 14th: “lamp,” up from #87

“Lamp” made its Top 20 debut as a screamer back in August – see that peak above right? Month on Month, searches were up by 9,500%! It also had a monthly CTR of 150%; that’s as high as these go. So we wrote a lot about it in that trend report. Since August, Competition has climbed by another couple thousand listings. But as of now, “lamp” still qualifies as a unicorn.
Let’s go see if we can find some more, shall we?
Roundup! Canada’s top Etsy keywords with 135%+ CTRs now
Here looking for ideas of what to sell on Etsy? Or to find out what’s selling best on Etsy now? Then this is for you! It’s your insider access to which of this month’s 250 highest-trending Etsy searches show the most purchase intent.
For these Roundups, we draw our calculations exclusively from your most recent full month of data. So, regardless of their 12-mo CTRs, most of these should be what’s selling best on Etsy in Canada now. As for any of interest that are valentine-related, add those to a Keyword List. That way, you’ll be a step ahead on product research for next year’s shoppers.
Ranked from #1-50
There are 11 qualifiers in your Top 20, beginning with already-mentioned valentines day gift. Then you have the trio at #6-9: wedding, rug, gift. Skip one and there’s tshirt. Skip one again and you have another trio: valentines day, digital products, lamp. At #16 is necklace, followed by #18 crochet and #20 sticker.
Moving on to the rest of the Top 50, from #22-25 there’s a quartet: curtains, 3d printed, valentine, and vintage. We featured “curtains” in the UK trend report’s Roundup this month. Yours ranks much higher, so we took a look – and struck gold!
#22 “curtains” – January CTR: 150%

For both you and the UK, “curtains” is a unicorn. And unlike theirs, yours is currently at a 15-mo high, and up Year on Year by 98%. If you’re looking for what to sell on Etsy, scroll down to curtains’ Related Searches table in Keyword Tool. Because “linen curtains” might be another unicorn.
Resuming the Roundup, next up you have #27-28 journal and mug. Then there’s another pair at #33-34 dog and womens clothing. At #38 is embroidery, followed by #40-41 hoodie and watches. And we wind up here with a quartet: #46-49 digital planner, custom, keychain, and calendar.
Ranking #51-100
We’re off to a fine start here with a pair of high flyers, #51-52 painting and crochet pattern. Skip just one and there’s a quartet: anime, backpack, bookmarks, bts. Skip two and you have a quintet: saree, wallet, mouse pad, phone charm and labubu. After these though, we have to drop down aways for the next qualifiers: #77-78 shower curtains and sewing patterns.
Starting at #80, another quintet: 2026 wall calendar, 2026 calendar, blanket, habit tracker, vintage jewelry. Skip one and there’s a pair: #86-87 silver bracelet and sweater. Then at #90-94 you have clothing, linen home textiles, apron, dress, tote bag. We talked about “apron/s” in your November Roundup. So we thought we’d take a quick peek to see how “apron” is doing. And we’re glad we did; have a look.
#92 “apron” – January CTR: 149%

Here you have it: another unicorn! Searches for “apron” haven’t dropped below 1,000 in at least 15 months. Yet competition is barely 7,000 listings. And it’s another with an Avg. CTR that’s well above average.
Another giant plus: aprons have a “low barrier to entry.” That’s jargon for a niche with minimal obstacles like steep startup costs or elite mastery required. Skills to make aprons are basic; so are the materials. Equipment: your great-grandma’s Singer would do fine. Bet you could find one cheap on Kijiji. Or even borrow a friend’s while you see how it goes.
We see real potential here. Aprons are experiencing a major revival now! Both “apron” and its plural “aprons” have phenomenally high CTRs for the month. If you’re wondering what’s selling best on Etsy Canada these days, these are!
Meanwhile, back to the Roundup! The final three qualifiers in the Top 100 are #96 pokemon, #98 taxidermy and #99 teto.
Next, ranked #101-150
Off like a shot here with #101 statue; it has 149% for the month. And if only it had consistent search volume, “statue” would qualify as a unicorn. It’s one to watch; competition is below 20,000 listings.
Same story for #103 plr, pretty much. PLRs are pre-made, editable digital products – e.g., templates for journals, planners, social media – that save the buyer time. Their purchase grants them “Private Label Rights” to customize and resell the resulting product. And this whole niche is trending every which way in Canada!
January climber “digital products” ranks 13th. Altogether, there are seven shopper searches with the word digital in your Top 1000 now. Everything from planners to art to prints. Ten for planners alone, and “journal” ranks 27th with a current CTR of 150%. So, without further ado, here’s “plr.”
#103 “plr” – January CTR: 149%

That Competition stat is what’s most compelling here. Fewer than 3,000 Canadian listings use it. Is it a unicorn? We’d like to see more than seven months with search volume above 1,000/mo. But it’s certainly got worthy CTR stats; we’d deem this niche worth researching.
And next up on our Roundup is #104-105 bird and dashcam mount. Then at #108-114, a septet: wolfbox, watch, leather, kitchen, harlock, gold, christian. Drop down to #120 for plaque; drop down again for #127 opal and #129 miku. Then no more until #145-146 crochet patterns and woven blanket, followed by #148-150 tshirts, templates and prom dress.
Ranked from #155-200
Straight out of the gate, two high flyers: #151 print and #152 silver rings. We featured “silver rings” in your October trend report; it was a Top 20 climber. And it also made that Roundup with a monthly CTR of 149%; it’s still got 144% now. And up next, we have more jewelry: #154 garnet earrings.
#154 “garnet earrings” – January CTR: 149%

Wow, surprising to find a common jewelry item on Etsy with such low competition, right? We expected garnets would have been more popular. Especially these days, with colored gems becoming far more widely known (and appreciated!) by the public. Colored gems are dominating 2026 jewelry trends. Especially in vintage-inspired designs, for which garnet is ideal.
Until there’s more sustained search volume though, we can’t recommend investing your time or money. But it’s definitely one to watch closely, then get in before your competition catches on.
Meanwhile, back on the Roundup, next up are #155-156 gifts for him and house numbers. Drop down to #159-162 and there’s wedding gifts for the couple, cosy gifts, digital art, choker. Then skip just one for a trio: retirement, phone case, pendant. Skip one again and at #168-170 there’s another trio: movie poster, dopamine decor and gift for boyfriend. Then at #173, you have ita bag. Unicorn alert!
#173 “ita bag” – January CTR: 148%

These are far from being a new trend, and it’s one that is absolutely global. And yet it has miniscule Competition! Same for the US, UK and Australia!
For the uninitiated, ita-bags are any kind of handbag, tote or backpack covered in badges, buttons, figurines and whatnot. It’s a Kawaii thing: the “all things cute and nostalgic” trend. Which is HUGE. Has been for years, and no sign whatever of stopping. So: are you here for ideas of what to sell on Etsy in a niche you could make your own? Here you go: ita-bags.
And resuming our Roundup once again, at #176 you’ve got skull crossbones. And it’s got a perfect 150% CTR. So we looked it up: Canada has 99.6% of the global shopper pie for this one! But so far, in terms of search history, it’s just a single-month spike. On the other hand, the symbol is a legit and major trend, especially with Gen Z. So keep an eye on this one too; so far, Competition is just 600 listings.
Up next, oh my, you have 15 straight, all of them high flyers! The first eight: #178-185 suit, steam games, runescape, rook earring, rgh, puffed trucker hats, socks, warhammer. Then from #186-192: vishnu, valorant, trinket, nose ring, nalgene, pillow and pin. Skip one for a trio: merlin, love, onyx. Again skip one and it’s another trio: #198-200 disney, dnd dice, citrine.
Finally, ranking #201-250
And yes, it’s another promising start: #201-202 compact mirror and cigarette case. Both have 148% CTRs. According to sources ranging from Vogue to Medium, compact mirrors are trending!

This is a trend a lot of you could get in on. Certainly vintage sellers, but also handmakers and 3D designers. That said, if you only sell within Canada, it would be prudent to hold off until you see more search volume. However, you also ship to the US, check out their stats:

“Compact mirror” gets more than enough shopper searches to rate as a unicorn there!
Winding up this month’s Roundup…
At #204, another trucker hat: custom hats embroidery trucker. (There are three in this Roundup, all with 148% CTRs for the month.) Then next, woohoo! from #206-220, there’s another uninterrupted run of high flyers! The first nine: carfax, eclairage, dxf, engagement ring box, ferrari jacket, fabric, ev9, gold ring set, jewelry box. The rest: khanjar, lanyard, lava lamp, iptv, jade, gifts for pets, adidas chinese new years jacket, and belt.
Phew! Next it’s just a pair: #224-225 black and beyblade. Then #227 baseball, #229 chrome heart leather, and at #236-237 youtube and game. At #239 you have lithograph, and then as mentioned, the third trucker hat: #244 puffed trucker hats embroidered. And at #247 is the last qualifier for this month; it’s high flyer pigeon.
We hope some of these leads prove to be profitable for you!
