By mid-month, keyword search counts get confirmed and some ranks change but usually not a lot.
You’ve got eleven climbers this month; that’s just on the high side of normal. But four of them are screamers, which is a lot. That’s our pet name for Top 20 searches that didn’t even make the previous month’s Top 1000. Because they seem to have screamed to the top out of nowhere. But more and more often, Etsy’s had a hand in that.
Canada’s top Etsy searches climbing highest fastest
We like to start with these because they’re your hottest trends now. Here they are, listed in current rank order, followed by their rank (if any) in June.
Ranked 3rd, “gift,” up from #58
4th, “rings,” up from #46
5th, “kpop demon hunters” (screamer; didn’t make June’s Top 1000)
6th, “halloween,” up from #124
8th, “crochet,” up from #57
9th, “gift for host” (screamer)
10th, “wedding gift,” up from #886
12th, “back to school” (screamer)
13th, “personalized gift,” up from #26
15th, “3d printed,” up from #38
19th, “gold jewellery gift” (screamer)
We won’t discuss all these; we know you’re busy. And we need to leave time at the end for your Roundup of what’s selling best on Etsy now. Plus a quickie demo on how to niche down from a keyword with daunting competition.
So, let’s see. The US and UK had some of these same climbers this month. We figured out they were just Etsy flinging spaghetti at the wall… Er, rather: Etsy testing to see which homepage promos get its customers to click.
That’s the case for your 9th-ranked screamer “gift for host.” And we’re sure that for both the UK and you, “back to school” was Etsy’s doing too. Nevertheless, let’s take a look at that one. Because yours has got a monthly click-through rate of 150%: that’s a perfect score.
Ranked 12th, “back to school” (screamer)
In this case, Etsy chose well! Canada’s Etsy shoppers are clearly interested in back-to-school gear. It’s just that last year, fewer Canadian customers used that exact term to search.

This year though, when they saw the promo on Etsy Canada’s homepage, lots not only clicked; they “clicked through.” That is, viewing the promo’s search results, they clicked lots of individual listings – well over 11,000 listings, in fact. And that indicates excellent purchase intent.
Canada’s top Etsy searches and purchase intent
Are any of you new to selling online? Here’s a useful tip.
On ecommerce sites, click-through rates (CTRs) reflect how many times shoppers clicked listings in their search results. Therefore, CTRs are an indicator of ‘purchase intent.’ These are people more likely searching with the intention to buy, as opposed to those just browsing.
So yes, keeping up with your top Etsy searches is necessary. But for insight into which of these trending products are selling best, look to their click-through rates. It’s why we’ve begun ending all our trend reports with a Monthly CTR Roundup. It’s your insider access to which of your 250 top Etsy keywords have the highest CTRs now.
But first, we have to get through these climbers. We can skip your frequent flyers: gift, rings, crochet, personalized gift, 3d printed. Some just got dislodged in June by all the Father’s Day gift searches. And it would be prudent to skip “kpop demon hunters.” It’s a popular Netflix film released in June, and bound to be protected intellectual property.
Which leaves us with just three more before we can get to your hottest sellers, yay.
Ranked 6th, “halloween,” up from #124
No news here: we expect this shopper search to start making Etsy Top 20 lists midsummer. So, let’s just take a quick peek to see how it’s doing for you this year. Because in both the US and UK, search volume is well up this year so far.

Yours too! Even more than theirs; your “halloween” is up Year on Year by 99%. And for July, it’s also got a monthly CTR of 150%!
Altogether, five keywords with “halloween” made your Top 1000, three of which have phenomenal CTRs this month. There’s this one, then #395 “halloween tshirt” with 146% for July, and #421 “halloween lunch box notes” with 147%. The final two are #546 “halloween crochet pattern” with 96%, and #579 “halloween cute ghost pumpkin cat shirt” with 97%. (The latter two CTRs are still quite good!)
Ranked 10th, “wedding gift,” up from #886
The US and UK both had this as a climber, too. Now, when we see the same climber on all three, we tend to smell an Etsy homepage promo.

Not this time, though. For all three, “wedding gift” and all things wedding are trending now for good reason.
In the US, June has always been traditional. But authorities like Brides magazine predicted that September weddings would be more popular this year. For the UK, August is the big wedding month. So their “wedding gift” July climber signaled a return to normal. There, 2024 was aberrant, getting a freak spike in May.
For Canada, both June and early fall have traditionally been favored for weddings. Nice: those of you selling in this niche get two bites of the apple! You’ve got 43 shopper searches with the word “wedding” in your July Top 1000, two making your Top 20.
Next, we checked your Top 1000 for July 2024. Last year, there were 59 searches – but the highest ranked was “wedding guest book” at #42. This year’s No. 10 “wedding gift” ranked down at #481 last July. “Wedding gifts” plural didn’t make the list at all. Huh. Maybe Canada had more June weddings last year? Because that May 2024 spike on the trend graph suggests it might have been the case.
Ranked 19th, “gold jewellery gift” (screamer)
We’re eager to look up this one; we’ve never seen it make a Top 20 before.

As opposed to an organic shopper search, this has the earmarks of an Etsy homepage promo. While we don’t see one labelled as such on yours now, we bet there was in July.
What we did see on Etsy Canada’s homepage today was a load of gold jewelry. No other metal; only gold. And for July, you do have 13 searches in your Top 1000 with “gold,” all jewelry. Whereas there are eight for “silver,” but the highest ranked is #414 “silver.” And of those eight, not all are jewelry.
As it happens, one of them is #779 “silver jewellery gift.” So, spidey senses tingling, we looked that up.

Yep: looking more and more like both are Etsy promos. Fourteen months with zero search volume, followed by a single-month spike? That’s telling. Bottom line: add them to a Keyword List if you like. But we doubt we’ll see them trending this high again.
And with that, we’re done with your Top 20 climber analysis for this month. Next, let’s see what your Top 250 trending keywords tell us about what’s selling best on Etsy Canada these days. If you’re here for ideas of what to sell on Etsy, this is for you!
Roundup! Canada’s top Etsy keywords with 125%+ CTRs now
Now, of the top ecommerce sites, Etsy has the most keywords with high CTRs. That said, even on Etsy, CTRs of 125%+ are fairly rare, as you’ll see. Note too, these calculations are based exclusively on our most recent full month of data. Therefore, regardless of their 12-mo CTRs, out of your 250 highest-ranked searches, these products show the most purchase intent currently.
Just a word of caution before we begin. Some of these shopper searches could cause an Etsy seller problems. Whether they be protected by intellectual property rights or prohibited by Etsy, please look before you leap!
Ranked from #1-50
Wow, a banner month for your Top 20! You have six with high CTRs, five of them 149%+! First, there’s the pair ranked #5-6, kpop demon hunters and halloween. Both have perfect 150% scores for July, as does #12 back to school. 15th-place singleton 3d printed has less, but it’s still a lot: 134%. Then the pair at #17-18 earrings and vintage bounce right back into the stratosphere with 149%.
Moving on to the rest of July’s Top 50, at #26 you have cat with 149%. (Incidentally, “dog” ranks #391 this month with just 124% for July. It’s fun for us data geeks to see these two vie for pride of place. The way “gold” and “silver” searches alternate.) Here’s a quick look at “cat.”
#26 “cat” – July CTR: 149%
Look at that: “cat” is up! By 54% over June. And Year on Year, it’s up close to 400%!

And “cat” has the banner waving that it’s still trending this week. With an Average CTR of 128%, too. Wonderful stats overall, with the exception of that pesky Etsy Competition figure in the red. Don’t let that stop you, though. You just have to niche down. Here’s a quickie How-To.
Tutorial: How to use Keyword Tool to niche down
On cat’s page in Keyword Tool, we scrolled down to its Keyword Ideas table. For Keyword Match type, we chose “Broad” (circled here in yellow). This will show us all Canadian shopper searches with the word “cat.”

What surprised us was how quickly that Competition stat drops after the broad terms “cat” and “cats.” These results are in order by Average Searches count. Yet third-highest “cat tag” has fewer than 14,000 Canadian Etsy listings using the term.
When you’re analyzing results, be sure to hover over the bars of those little Search Trend graphs. For instance, 7th-ranked “cat tree” only has 538 for Average Searches. But when you look at its 15-mo trend graph, you see it had nine months of very low search volume. However, for the past five months straight, “cat tree” had 1,000+/mo searches: clearly, these are trending! And in July, it had 1,400 searches; it actually ranks #451 in your Top 1000, with a monthly CTR of 106%.
And now, let’s get back to our Roundup. Up next, the pair at #28-29: custom (149%) and labubu; she has 141%. Then a couple of high-flying singletons, both with 149%: #31 polo and #40 vtuber model.
After these, you have a sextet at #43-48 and all but the sixth have sky-high CTRs. These are keycaps (150%), then the next three have 149%: labubu clothes, postcard, bmw, valorant. The sixth is baby; it has 137%.
Ranking #51 through #100
Straight out of the gate, there’s #52 pin with 149%. Then we skip ahead to #63-64 for unique gift (144%) and charm bracelet (148%). Skip just one and there’s a trio: #66-68 printable wall art (128%); pink and perfume each have 148%. Then at #71 you have fursuit; it has 149%.
#71 “fursuit” – July CTR: 149%
We talked about this in the UK’s Roundup this month, too. Here at eRank, we’ve been watching this trend rising for years. Early in the pandemic, it really took off. Gear for furries has gone mainstream – and global. Here’s your data for “fursuit.”

If this is a product you can make or customize, this niche has a lot to recommend it. Especially that Etsy Competition stat! Only 837 Canadian listings use this term.
And now back to our regularly-scheduled Roundup, haha. At #72 is aquamarine; it’s got 148%, and #74 personalized jewelry has 149%. Then we skip ahead to #83-84 for deftones key and blue white paisley tie; both have 148%. Singleton #86 phone charm has 132%. And that’s it for the Top 100.
Next, from #101 through #150
Another strong start! At #103-104 you have wedding favors with 149%; its partner ring has 146%. Then another wedding-related high flyer: #109 wedding seating chart has 147%. Next, a pair of pairs. At #112-113 stl has 148% and sofa has 145%. Then at #115-116 are pickleball and rug; both have 148%.
Next up, at #118-120 is a trio, all with 147%+: procreate, pokemon, and pins. Skip just one and there’s another trio at #122-124. These are autism pin (141%), blackpink (149%) and bacheloretteparty tshirts (yep, “bacheloretteparty” one word); it’s got 148%.
And then at #127-131, you have a quintet, all with 147%+: boho, cosplay, coin, deku t shirt, and infant tee. Indeed, the next eight in a row all have 147%+! The quartet at #133-136: emerald, hatch, funny tshirt, and lightroom presets. Then the pair at #140-141 vigilante deku t shirt and vtuber. Then the two singletons (both for the same item): #144 the zelfs and #146 zelfs.
Breaking the spell is #148 dome shape hoop earring gold; it has 127% for July. And the last qualifier in this section is #150 japanese with 148%.
Ranked #151 through #200
Off with a bang here too! The trio at #152-154 all have 148% CTRs: nikkah certificate, decor, alien stage. So does the first of the pair at #159-160, ffxiv; its partner digital planner has 141%. Then the next three in a row all have 147%+. First, the pair at #166-167 bloodborne and bloodborne weapon, then the first of the next pair, #173 n8n. Its partner #174 sweatshirt has 141%.
Next, the singleton #180 french has 148%. Then, all the rest in this section have 147%! The pair at #185-186 bioshock costume and chain;
then #188 tie shield; #193 self care, and #198 ghibli.
And finally, from #201-250
This section starts out on snooze; the first qualifier is singleton #219 squishy d20, but it’s got a worthy 147%. Since we don’t recall seeing this search before, we darted off to Keyword Tool. The results were so interesting! Have a look.
#219 “squishy d20” – July CTR: 147%
We’re including all three graphs because of its highly-unusual Searchers by Country pie chart.

Canada has the whole entire pie! Also, per the line chart, “squishy d20” appears to be a recent trend, and it’s only trending in Canada. We checked all the other top Etsy countries. No sign of searches.
For those unfamiliar with this product, here’s Google AI:
A squishy D20 is a twenty-sided die (D20) made from a soft, pliable material like silicone, often designed for fidgeting or stress relief in addition to its use in tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons. Unlike traditional hard plastic dice, these dice can be squeezed and manipulated, providing a sensory experience.
“Google’s AI Overviews,” August 7, 2025
It appears they’re pitched primarily as a fidget item or desk toy rather than for D&D gameplay. (And speaking of D&D, “D20” isn’t trademarked or copyrighted, so you’d be in the clear there.) These can be 3d printed, but there are ways to make them at home without a printer, too. For those of you here for ideas of what to sell on Etsy, this one might prove worth watching.
And there are only two more qualifiers in this month’s Roundup. The next is #227 funny; it too has 147%, as does the next (and last), #232 desk. We hope some of these leads prove to be profitable for you!
