We data geeks here at eRank adore these quarterly Top 1000 lists. They are so clean! Those “one month and done” searches we see in Etsy’s monthly Top 1000s have blown on through and disappeared. So, here is where we get a clearer picture of which products are most popular. And we also get to see which are the newest Etsy trends; we call these climbers.

This is the keyword that has climbed highest fastest this quarter: “png.”

In May alone, “png” got close to 42,000 searches, its 15-mo high.

Over the years, we’ve found quarterly keywords most closely match the same quarter of the previous year. It’s because on Etsy, each quarter has its own unique focus for gift shopping. For Q2, it is Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and graduations. So, to identify these climbers, we compared the current Q2 Top 20 with the Top 20 of Q2 last year.

Ranked 6th, “digital products,” up from #45 in Q2 2025

7th, “phone case,” up from #28

8th, “womens clothing,” up from #23

9th, “mothers day,” up from #62

13th, “png,” up from #93

15th, “crochet,” up from #24

16th, “press on nails,” up from #30

19th, “mug,” up from #37

20th, “ring,” up from #29

No real surprises here, surprisingly enough. Indeed, four barely qualify as climbers. Phone case, women’s clothing, crochet, and ring all ranked in the Top 30 in last year’s Q2. (And “rings” plural ranked #12.)

At first glance, seeing “mothers day” ranked down at #62 last year might seem weird. But actually, Q2 2025’s Top 20 had more Mother’s Day searches: gift for mom, unique gift for mom, best gift for mom. Altogether, its Top 1000 had 11 searches with the word “mom,” and six with “mother.” This year, there were just four “mom” searches, and nine with “mother.” Now, that – the shift from “mom” to “mother” in searches – is worth noting for next year.

Ranked 9th: “mothers day,” up from #62 in Q2 2025

Left, Etsy US keyword stats for “mothers day.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume. Notably, "mothers day" has eRank's gold badge for being among the top Etsy searches this week.

Year on Year for April, peak Mother’s Day shopping, “mothers day” is up 37%. What’s curious is that it’s also trending this week in mid-July! But we’ve seen this before: in February, “christmas” searches were way up. Lots of thrifty shoppers take advantage of post-holiday sales to stock up for next Christmas. Maybe they are doing the same for Mother’s Day items in July?

By the way, “mothers day gift” ranks #23 for Q2. But you know what ranks even higher?

Ranked 21st: “halloween,” up from #119 in Q2 2025

Left, Etsy US keyword stats for “halloween.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume. "Halloween" also has the gold badge indicating it's among the top Etsy searches this week.

This year, “halloween” has been ranking higher earlier than ever before. In May, it ranked 8th overall: that’s wild! While it’s fun for us data geeks to speculate the reasons why, who can know for sure at this point? It could simply be that in the US, Halloween has more year-round fans than ever.

And they are buying! Check out that average click-through rate (CTR) stat above: 127%. For a 12-mo CTR, that indicates sky-high purchase intent. For those of you who are new to selling online, here’s a quick explainer.

Top Etsy searches and purchase intent

On ecommerce sites, click-through rates (CTRs) reflect how many times shoppers clicked individual listings in their search results. CTRs above 100% indicate customers who are strongly engaged, clicking multiple listings. This behavior is associated with people searching with the intention to buy, as opposed to those just browsing. Therefore, CTRs are an indicator of “purchase intent.”

You’ll want to keep up with the top Etsy keywords, sure. But for insight into what is selling best on Etsy now, look to their click-through rates. It’s why we end our trend reports with a Monthly (or Quarterly or Annual) CTR Roundup. You’ll learn which of the Top 200 Etsy searches have the highest current CTRs.

Here’s a teaser: this quarter’s Top 20 search with the highest CTR. (Q2 2025’s was “labubu.”)

#11 pokemon – Q2 CTR: 137%

Left, Etsy US keyword stats for “pokemon.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume. And it has the gold badge telling us "pokemon" is still trending on Etsy this week.

Holy smokes, “pokemon” stuff must be selling like hotcakes! Hope all those sellers are licensed; we hear The Pokemon Company vigorously defends its intellectual property rights. Never mind; we’re sure we can find plenty of opportunities that aren’t as risky. And maybe even some unicorns.

Roundup! Top Etsy keywords with 125%+ Q2 CTRs

Analyzing these CTRs is how we spot opportunities for you. Products we get most excited about are in the Top 200 and have:

  • 125%+ CTRs for the current month
  • 100%+ Average CTRs
  • 5+ out of 15 months with 1,000+/mo searches
  • Low competition (green in Keyword Tool)

We’ve begun calling these “unicorns” because of all the Etsy naysayers who claim they don’t exist. That is, they don’t believe any products with above-average demand and below-average competition are left on Etsy anymore. And yet in every Roundup, we do seem to find some. Fingers crossed!

Ranking #1-50

Note: For readability and time, we’ll only shout out a handful of individual CTRs that are sky high. Just keep in mind that our 125% threshold indicates exceptional purchase intent. Which means any qualifying keywords you see here that interest you will be worth researching.

In the Top 20, there are just four qualifiers: pokemon, png, poster, and ring. So few is unsurprising. Quarterly CTRs are always lower than monthly CTRs, and 12-mo CTRs are even lower.

Moving on to the rest of Q2’s Top 50, our next qualifier is #26 sticker, followed by #33-34 digital and project hail mary. And the last qualifier in the Top 50 is #46 ayn thor. Unicorn Alert!

#46 ayn thor – Q2 CTR: 132%

Left, Etsy US keyword stats for “ayn thor.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume.

AYN’s Thor, an android gaming handheld, only launched in late 2025. So of course no one is allowed to sell them on Etsy. And anyway, what most shoppers appear to be searching for are Thor-compatible accessories. Those wouldn’t be an issue with Etsy, as long as the brand allows it. You will have to do your due diligence on that.

Ranked from #51-100

Our first qualifier here is #65 stl, followed by #70 world cup, #72 embroidery, and #73 sonic birthday invitation. Skip down two and we have a trio: resident evil, world cup 2026, and keycaps.

#78 keycaps – Q2 CTR: 150%

Left, Etsy US keyword stats for “keycaps.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume. And it has the gold badge telling us "keycaps" is still among the top Etsy searches this week.

Anyone who has read our Etsy trend reports for a year+ knows we just can’t shut up about keycaps. But it’s because “keycaps” is a unicorn! One of our OG unicorns in fact, and straight out of a fairy tale. Check out that 12-mo CTR: it’s a phenomenal 147%! And for the quarter, it has 150%; eRank CTRs get no higher.

If you’re here to find out what’s selling best on Etsy, these are. And if you’re here to find a product in a niche you could make your own? One with high demand and low competition? “Keycaps” gets our highest recommendation.

Back on the Roundup now, Q2’s next qualifiers are #87 dice and #91 dog. Then the Top 100 winds up nicely with a trio: #98-100 pokmon [sic] birthday invitation, sword, and dad shirt. “Dad shirt” has a Q2 CTR of 150%. Add it to a Keyword List for next year.

Next, ranked #101-150

First off here is #106 vintage, followed by #109-110 dnd dice and badge reel. Skip down two and there’s book, then at #126-127, a pair: 4th of july png and flower. Next are #134 disney, #141 carfax, and then a quartet: #143-146 flag, bachelorette, fathers day shirt, and yumeship. “Flag” is at a 15-mo high!

#143 flag – Q2 CTR: 141%

Left, Etsy US keyword stats for “flag.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume.
Left, Etsy US keyword stats for “flag.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume.

“Flag” also has an average CTR of 142%! We can not stress enough how rare that is for a 12-mo click-through rate. Of course, some of this buyer enthusiasm is due to this being America’s 250th birthday. Still, back in July 2025, flag searches were nearly as high, with a July CTR of 150%! Look how high searches were in January; its CTR for the month was 150%! So we see ongoing opportunity here.

And don’t let that Competition stat put you off. Instead, view this data as promising confirmation that lots of people are shopping for flags on Etsy. You’ll automatically niche down from the broad term by choosing attributes like flag type, size, material.

Are you new? For this month’s Etsy US trend report, we did a tutorial on using Keyword Tool to niche down. It’s in the Roundup section. That demo keyword was “wedding,” but the same procedure works for any search term. In fact, we just followed the same steps and found this.

Looks like a unicorn to us!

And finally, ranked #151-200

Here we begin with #163-164 custom plush and therian mask. By the way, keep an eye on “therian mask.” Its 12-mo CTR being 2% short is all that keeps it from unicorn status. The rest of its stats are spectacular.

Moving on, two trademarked terms next: #169 snoopy and #175 fallout. But the next five are free and clear. These are #182-183 keychains and garden, #186 wood, #191 trending shirt, and #199 graduation stole. Unicorn alert!

#199 graduation stole – Q2 CTR: 150%

Left, Etsy US keyword stats for “graduation stole.” The line chart tracks its 15-mo search volume. Note the gold badge; it indicates that "graduation stole" is still among the top Etsy searches this week.

You’d think “graduation stole” would only trend at the end of the school year, but no! In 13 of the past 15 months, it has garnered 1,000+/mo searches! We were certainly surprised.

You may not even need to sew all that much to get in on this. People customize them. You could probably purchase the basic stole in the stipulated colors, then work with the client on add-ons. For instance, many love to add the flag of their country of origin or ancestry. And guess what? “Custom graduation stole” is also a unicorn!

So it’s a twofer!

And with that, it’s a wrap for Etsy this month, gang. Hope some of these prove to be profitable leads for you!
